We stayed at the Sycamore Cabin at the end of November. It is a gem -- clean, well-equipped, spacious and in a unique setting. For those unfamiliar with the program, the U.S. Forest Service fixes up historic cabins and offers them to the public for overnight rental. Our family has been to this cabin multiple times - by choice! It is a restored cabin on the National Forest. It is not meant to serve as a hotel/motel in-town experience. You bring your own linens and food (duh). The cabin has always been spotless and the wood floors kept up. It is situated in a riparian setting and...

The cabin is indeed primative. The bedding is not 4 Seasons. The place is owned by the National Forest Service for goodness sakes. There's NO television. Radio is spotty at best. Forget the cell phone, it don't work. I absolutely hate the place so much that I'm going back for the 8th time in October. I can't wait......

It was so depressing to stay here at Sycamore cabin. Not the idyllic, bucolic setting I expected from the website's description. No decor, the furniture inside was so bad we used our camping chairs indoors and outdoors. The beds were scary dirty and also squeeky. I guess it's a step up from camping since there is a bathroom, tub shower,...
