I stayed for one night, enjoying a bit of luxury whilst walking the camino Sanabres. Very spacious and nice rooms. Mine was at the back, with a nice view of the church and the fortress. Straff was very helpful and nice. The restaurant served very tasty, homemade food. The church and fortress is well worth a visit.
When waylaid by foot problems walking the Via Sanabres, we stayed 2 nights in this charming hostal and received superb hospitality. The rooms are large and stylishly decorated, with lace curtains, good quality linens and bath accessories, comfortable bed and a mini cooler. The in-house cafe serves a special pilgrim's breakfast including fruit, yogurt, juice, tostada and coffee, and offers a full menu all day. Mamen, our hostess, was a delight, assisting us with transport, walking directions, future bookings and even offering to accompany us to the physiotherapist. We felt very fortunate to have chosen this accommodation in beautiful Puebla de Sanabria.
My husband and I have stayed at this hotel twice (2016 & 17) as pilgrims on the Camino Sanabrés. The hotel is a small, family run place and it's great! The rooms are large, well equipped, with bath (with a tub!), bath robes and everything you can wish for. The staff has a good eye and much taste for details, all to the customers' benefit. They serve excellent meals and their "desayuno como ninguno" fully deserves the descriptive name. Everyone is friendly and ready to give you all the advice and attention you need. You will certainly get your money's worth and so much more! I have no hesitation in recommending this stay for pilgrims and for anyone who appreciates a personal touch.
I walked Camino de Santiago and stopped by this hostel on my way. It was a great stay in this hostel. The front staff was very friendly and smiling to me when I opened the door even I looked like a outdoor hiker.. The room was very clean and comfortable. I took a good rest on the night. When I left the hostal (I didn't want to!) the staff handed me a lunch pack! It was such a great service for the pilgrims. I really want to get back to the hostel in future! 5 STAR HOSTEL!!!
Hostal ** but with service and room as at least ****+ hotel. Used only 1 night on a busy trip to North of Spain. Will 100% return to this hostal when passing by another time. Late arrival and very early departure. Only breakfast (not included) late opening in weekend.
