The hotel is immaculately clean throughout, public parts all well maintained. Our room was quite spacious, functional rather than luxurious, with a sunny balcony overlooking the swimming pool. A small fridge was very handy for drinks and snacks. But the real strength of the Alcadima is in its outdoor areas - the gorgeous pool and the surrounding shady nooks, quiet seating areas and walkways, all very relaxing. The restaurant is casual but elegant, offering a varied and very acceptable menu. Only a few hundred yards off Lanjaron's main street with all its bars and restaurants, the Alcadima is a great choice for anyone who has a reason to be in the area, and a destination in itself for a short break.

It's a lovely hotel, comprising apartments of various sizes and positions. I visited for the famous town fiesta of San Juan and was pleasantly impressed by the level of cleanliness, the pool area, and the general ambience of the public areas. Plus, you can always bag a pool lounger! However, if you're planning to stay out until silly-o-clock (working, partying - whatever), be aware that you will have to ring for the door to be opened (not a problem, as the staff are friendly). What I'm saying, in a roundabout way, is this is not the place to stagger back drunk like a typical Brit abroad! I would also advise booking a class of room above 'basic double' (like I did), as the other categories all have a terrace, not just a small balcony. These larger terraces are equipped with a small clothes horse for drying your swimming cossie and towel. To add to your comfort level, the aircon in the rooms is effective, the bathrooms modern, and the rooms are serviced daily. For business travellers, the desk and free WiFi in each room will prove useful.

We visited this wonderful hotel as part of our early season cycling tour. The well maintained facilities served by courteous staff are first class with the bonus of secure bike storage and workshop. We visit the region on a regular basis and we were recommended the hotel by a local contact and we were so impressed that we are already planning a return visit in 2024.

Hospitality, this is the key to customer satisfaction and also the corner stone to running a business. I have read many of the reviews on this hotel since staying here and wish I had delved deeper before booking. Family run business….. not a wise choice to place the two grumpiest rude uncles on reception. On arrival a hand was held up to tell us to wait, obviously work on the computer is more important than a physical customer, not! Then a grumpy demand for passports and the attitude continued. Not a smile from either GOM during our two night stay. Even had to ask for a town map which was reluctantly handed over, a service which should be offered with a smile at check in, come on guys lift your game. Room was quite pleasant with a view over the courtyard. Shower curtain would be a good idea, save the daily floor flooding. Aircon didn’t work. Paper cups rather then glasses, really! At check out we mentioned the aircon didn’t work and was met with surprise. Must have been the previous guest setting it incorrectly we were told. No, we know how to control an aircon and it was broken. The fan was suffice on this Occassion but room did feel like a sauna every time we entered it from the cool passage. Breakfast was good and the lady running the area pleasant and smiley. We didn’t end up eating in the evening at the restaurant as the unhelpfulness of the GOM honestly put us off. I don’t usually leave such a detailed negative review, but if this business has been running for as long as it has its not from returning satisfied customers, it’s from first, and only time, users. All in all, give it a miss!

Very nice hotel but unfriendly staff. Waiters see you, do not come. How long you have to wait to get something orderd? Really, a Ile can't harm, you are in the hospitality business. So, pay attention to the people who pay your salary.

Third visit to this hotel, and hope to go back again. At the back of the hotel is a beautiful garden, with well tended flowers and also several water features. Our room gave directly on to the garden, and we had our own small terrace. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Only stayed one night at end of cycling trip. Bit counter intuitive with reception on highest floor and maze of steps and corridors but great spacious rooms. Lovely surrounding to fabulous pool with very nice bar. Breakfast good as was evening meal. On edge of town with views of mountains.

This was the second time I took a large group to the hotel, from the minute we checked in the staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The rooms are very clean and spacious with comfy beds. The hotel itself is set in beautiful lush gardens with a large outdoor pool, a perfect place to spend some relaxing days.

I stayed in this hotel for 8 nights and was enchanted by its beauty inside and outside in the lush gardens. All staff were perfect, friendly and very competent. I felt at home at once. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. I would recommend this hotel as one of the most beautiful and welcoming hotels I have visited. The restaurant was really top too. I will certainly come back!
