I've only stayed on 395 a few times in my life but none of my lodgings beat the Mt Williamson Motel. Beautifully decorated and maintained with all the charm of another era. Excellent for dogs and people. Only complaint might be the highway traffic but it never Disturbed our sleep. I would return just to experience a weekend in Independence....

Nicely done update on a 40s motel. The room was pretty small, but efficient. I especially appreciate having a landing spot for luggage, a cabinet in the bathroom to put your toiletry bags on, real glasses and mugs (rather than plastic & styrofoam), a kettle for hot water with coffee & tea, organic liquid soap plus art on the walls....

When traveling in the Eastern Sierras I will now make a point to always stay at this charming motel. The cabins are cozy, comfortable with just the right amount funky charm The owner "Strider" makes you feel a welcome guest. And if you are a bighorn sheep fan enjoy the incredible artwork and make sure to pick up a pair...

Found this place by accident but fell in love immediately. The place is clean, very cute, and very comfortable. Dog friendly - there one unit only for dogs, so make a reservation, but it has a fenced yard which is a very nice touch. And the owner is fantastic!

We were very pleased with the accommodations. We were upgraded to the suite with full kitchen with dishes. The room has all the modern amenities. Centrally located. Not a lot to offer in Independence in February..but in Lone Pine you can grocery shop, lots of hiking stores & differant restaurants. Death Valley is 75 miles away. Lots of hiking in...

My boyfriend and I stayed here, we were not on a hike to Mt Whitney or the PCT. We were just on a road trip. We were kind of "in and out" so we didn't get to enjoy the ambience as long as we would have liked. Everyone we met was SO friendly, great place to stay. Fair warning though:...

My brother and I stayed here while resupplying during a two-week hike in the Sierras. We both thought it was really great place to stay. The rooms are very clean, attractive, and comfortable and I really appreciate that they have/use natural soaps. But most importantly, the energy is really good--it just feels good to be at the Mt. Williamson Hotel!...

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Mt. Williamson Motel on many occasions. It is one of our favorite places! It's beautiful here no matter the season. We love the pet friendly rooms here. We've stayed in all of them, but our favorite is Cabin #6-Bailey's Cabin. The pet friendly rooms here are always clean and fresh smelling!...

I couldn't have found a better place to rest & resupply during my 3 weeks on the John Muir Trail. Strider is a gracious hostess with an outstanding facility that is overflowing with warmth, charm & hospitality. Her facility is immaculate & exudes pride in ownership. My room "Bailey's Room" was super cute & cozy & included a fenced in...

My girl friend and I found this on the internet and booked...we were looking forward to enjoying this "wonderful"..place according to all of the reviews. Booked and payed over 120.00 When we got there we were put in this horrible smelly little cabin..smelled like dog poop! The manager proudly told us we were staying in a dog friendly cabin!...we did...
