Superb accomodation, excellent location. Clare & Duncan were excellent hosts and Duncan's local knowledge was great. Good wetsuits & board selection with proffesional tuition for beginers and the more advanced. The other guests were great, I really loved my time here. Can't wait to return!

Seriously the nicest family I have ever met. The best surf hostel you could ever ask for. Whether you are looking to learn how to surf, improve your surfing, or just surf with a bunch of people who are super interesting, kind, and into surfing then this is the place for you! Highly recommend!

I saw the strength of a family that changed their lives for a dream, their dream, and starting from scratch they have now created a fantastic reality and a unique atmosphere, it's not just a surf school, but a family of surfers from all over the world . Duncan, Claire and Dane are the best in Peniche! Very recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay in this hostel! It was clean and has all the things that you need. In addition, it was perfect to meet new people as there are a lot of solo and small groups travellers. It is run by a super lovely and helpful family that really want to connect with the guests. The only downside of this place is that you are really gonna miss them at the end. We would recommend this hostel to anyone that wants to surf and have a great time in Peniche.

Yes! Loved! Booked a two bed private room with bathroom in room at lodge one. It was perfect. Chill surfer vibe without any negative vibes and all the fun. Each morning we were picked up for a wonderful day on the beach. Surf, body board , naps in the shade, beer and burgers at the cafe, Heaven! And yes take the surf lessons!!! No matter what skill level, you will make big gains in your surfing skills. The owners are the instructors so they are vested in your success. But more importantly, they love surfing and the ocean and love working with people who enjoy the ocean and the waves like they do. And if you not in love with surfing and the ocean when you get there. You will be when you leave. They are that good teaching. I try surfing once every 5 years so I am a perpetual beginner surfer. I have had surf lessons in Hawaii, California and here. Theses were by far the THE Best Surf lessons I have ever had. Dane, the instructor, was always patient and positive. So , yes, take the surf lessons. My travel partner surfing skills dramatically increased. The place attracts a wonderful group of positive and friendly travelers. So you will have good company in the water and at the beach and at the lodge. It’s a family run business and there is a pride of ownership. They even bring coffee and biscuits/cookies around 3 down to the beach. Fun. Yes , if you want a positive surfing vibe. Yes , if you want a good place to relax afterwards. It was the best part of our European adventure.…

We had an amazing time at Peniche surf lodge and definitely come back! Your feeling like a big family, having beach days everyday. You get picked up at 10am ( how cool is that ?!) than u can choose if u just rent or take a lesson ( which are really good !!!). Duncan and Dane ( father and son) adjust the lessons to every level, have amazing tips, because they can really surf and literally read the oceans !! Amazing to get to know their knowledge. Claire (wife) is providing a lovely house, well equipped kitchen, clean rooms and they all make a lovely, funny atmosphere. We felt super welcomed and can’t wait to get back :)

I have been trying to progress at an intermediate level for a long time. Dane & Duncan helped me breakthrough. I made progress every single day. They are great coaches at all levels, the board selection is awesome, the lodge is super comfortable and the perfect mix of relaxed and fun. You can't go wrong here. I think the most validating point here is that while I was there for 2 weeks half of the people that came in had been there 2 or more times. I'll definitely be joining that group and coming back again!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Peniche Surf Lodge and had an amazing time. This is a family run establishment and they go above and beyond to make your whole experience incredible and stress free. They provide all you need for a great surf holiday; transportation to and from the beach, a convenient beach camp to leave your belongings, phenomenal surf lessons and general helpful knowledge for any level surfer. The whole experience caters to a great environment to meet new people from around the world, relax at the beach and enjoy the amazing surf. We will definitely be back!

Peniche surf lodge is a family driven hostel and you can certainly feel that whilst staying. Claire, Duncan and Dane made sure that everything was perfect for us. They are so kind and made us feel part of the family from day one. We booked directly trough email and we felt completely safe from the beginning. Claire answered our questions quickly and made sure everything was okay. Especially in these Covid19 times this was very helpful. You can really rely on their Covid19 policy and cancellation rules. Don’t hesitate to book your stay with them. The rooms and common areas was always very very clean. Duncan and Dane came every day to check in on us and drove us to the perfect spot of the day where we sat up a nice beach camp and surfed all day. The lodge is nearby several stores and groceries and close to bars and restaurants. We had an amazing time and will definitely come back. We can’t wait. Best from Nanna and Aya - Denmark…
