We booked The Bugibba Hotel last minute on booking.com, and had an unpleasant experience, like hundreds of others it seems! At least we only stayed about 25 minutes. Good luck if you have to spend the night there! During our 25 minute stay, we spent about 10 minutes walking to our room. There is barely any signage to suggest which...

Dear Amelia, The majority of the guests enjoyed their stay at the hotel and you were in Bugibba during a music festival, which means the atmosphere is not the usual one in the town, nor in the hotel. You say you were only in the hotel 25 minutes, yet list many things that must surely be supposition. We further assure...

Stayed here for 5 nights in April 2017. Twin room with en-suite bathrooms; beds were okay, bathroom was also fine. Balcony facing pool was rather nice. We got a fab nightly rate with this hotel, so we were really pleased with its value for money. Has 2 pools and a pool bar, which were also nice. Only negative I can...

Dear Rory, Thanks for your review. I assure you and others reading this that the hotel only had the deposit policy for check-in during the Lost and Found Music Festival, it proving a precaution against considerable damage being done to the hotel, a sister hotel suffering badly last year. The deposit proved a deterrent and served its purpose, especially as...

I would avoid this hotel at all costs - we had numerous negative experiences: - on arrival we were advised that we were expected to pay a security deposit, that we were supposed to have been notified of by our booking agents. We never received this notification and having now spoken to our booking agent, they confirmed this is something...

Dear reviewer, When 7,000 people come to Malta for a music festival, certain precautions have to be made, the room deposit being one of them. The usual manner this is taken is in cash, though some guests insist on securing it by card, a common practice for hotels. The incident at 5 am was a reminder of what can transpire,...

My boyfriend, a couple of friends and I have just checked out of The Bugibba Hotel - what an experience. The location of the hotel is good, there is a supermarket opposite called Scooby's which the staff were all very nice and helpful. And a 10 minute walk to the beach. When we first arrived at the hotel we were...

Dear Laurie, The reception service is 24-hour and the staff are therefore always available to answer your queries, especially if it appears that your room has not been serviced. Of course, if people place the "Do not disturb" sign on their door, the maids will not enter. By setting your alarm, it implies that you stayed in bed in the...

Great place to stay to explore the island. 2 blocks from the sea, 2 blocks from the bus terminal, lots of little pubs and restaurants. Easy to get around. Friendly staff, helpful (shout out to Jason). Stayed here 9 nights. Nothing fancy but It's clean, comfortable and affordable. A bit noisy but what resort isn't. Would stay here again.
