Specious clean room with good size bathroom. Helpful staff. Walking distance to beach and restaurants - but not in view of them. Walking distance to X1 and X3 busses from airport. English breakfast. I was in room number ending in 20, which was noisy. Dinner was also disappointing. Better to avoid food here as none of the ingredients are fresh.... More

Hotel ok. But avoid room 220 and possibly other 20s as above delivery and staff entrance every morning noise of clatter etc Plus view over waste land. Rooms clean and tidy well serviced. Good restaurant with excellent buffet at night stuck in the 80s evening entertainment but suited most guests if a certain age. Staff very helpful. Would stay again.... More

Our greeting on arrival was first class with Johan . The hotel is immaculately clean and our room 401 huge in comparison to some other hotels we have stayed in. Towels changed daily if required also bedding regularly. The food was plentiful and massive choices. No problem with vegetarians they will make you whatever you asked. Exactly as described in... Possibly not the best place to be with a wheelchair but we had a last minute week in November and the staff couldn't do enough for us. I hired a mobility scooter one day which was delivered to and collected from the hotel. We booked one excursion direct from the hotel and unlike the actual provider, who we had to... More

Not in the prettiest area, but nice and quiet at night. A 10 minute walk gets you to all amenities. Yes the rooms could do with a makeover, but the food is reasonable and the staff are lovely and helpful. All in all a great budget hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for a week. We were extremely pleased with everything : the rooms were very clean, the staff extremely nice. The food was delicious and varied, (local specialities -soups, rabbit stew, fish, meat)the cheese boards were always nicely decorated. Breakfasts were varied too, whether one preferred Continental breakfast or typically British one (with bacon and eggs...yummy... More

We recently stayed here in November and we were very pleasantly suprised with the hotel. The hotel for the price paid was great value for money and would highly recommend. The hotel is in a quiet residential area that could be made to look prettier but this should not put anybody off staying at the hotel. The hotel is only 5-10... More

Having been tempted by a ridiculously cheap 7 night b&b break - you never expect much more than a clean room and bed as a base to explore from. It's therefore a wonderful surprise to find such a fine hotel as the Sunflower. We upgraded to half board for four of our seven nights for only €9.50 per buffet meal... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The 3-star Sunflower Hotel is located in Qawra, within the resort of St. Paul's Bay, in the north of Malta. It is just 800 meters away from its sister hotel, the 4-star Hotel Santana, and only a ten minute walk away from the picturesque 2.5 km promenade, a small man made sandy beach, various rocky beaches, public transport, shops, bars, restaurants, a Casino, a multiplex cinema, the national aquarium and various other recreational facilities. Despite its modern exterior, the hotel's interior design reflects traditional Maltese architectural characteristics through the use of Maltese limestone. The Sunflower Hotel is tastefully designed and offers most of the facilities found in a 4-star hotel. Since the hotel opened its doors in 2003, it has gained a reputation for personalized attention and enjoys a strong base of repeat customers. The resort of St. Paul's Bay is made up of Qawra, Bugibba and the village of St. Paul's Bay. The resort is linked through a 2.5km promenade which affords it with stunning coastal walks and plenty of small bays in which one can swim. The resort has numerous restaurants, cafés, bars and shops. In Qawra one also finds a casino, the national aquarium, a man made sandy beach and a bus station offering regular bus service to all parts of the Maltese islands. Hotel facilities include a 24 hour reception, buffet restaurant and outdoor terrace, 24 hour bar, an attractively designed roof top pool (May to October) and sunbathing terrace, both enjoying open sea and country views, a swim-up pool bar (May to October), an indoor pool which is heated in winter, a treatments/massage room and also a games room.
