I must say... Historic Mankin Mansion is the most beautifully restored picturesque B & B I have ever visited. The grounds are breath taking, the rooms were cozy and quaint, the staff was more than accommodating & the food was fabulous! After staying in numerous hotels and B & B's I would definitely recommend Historic Mankin Mansion to anyone who...

I traveled to Richmond for business and decided to try something different. I travel quite a bit and always stay at either a Marriott or Westin. It was a refreshing change to stay at an intimate and comfortable B&B. The grounds are fantastic and I can only imagine what a great place it is for a wedding. I will definitely...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and attended a wedding at the Historic Mankin Mansion and, in a word, it was WONDERFUL!! Both Martin and Paula (the owners) were great and helpful in every respect. The accomodations were very nice and the welcome basket of fruit, etc... added a nice touch. The wedding was beautiful and the reception...

Stayed one night for business in Richmond. The location is close to the city, but tucked away in a tree-lined neighborhood. My colleague and I received an upgrade from management to the Farmer's Cottage which was lovely. Very cozy and quaint, it was great to relax there after a day of travel and business. In the morning, we were brought...

I was only to stay here for a short stay, but was very impressed with not only the facility, but the owners as well. Paula and Martin are dear people who go out of their way to be helpful. And the property itself it beautifully maintained. The room I stayed in, the Carriage Room, was cozy (yet still spacious). Absolutely...

We wanted to "get away" for a one-night stay somewhere close to home so we chose the Historic Mankin Mansion. What an excellent choice! Kind of a hidden secret just outside Richmond on a beautiful piece of property. Since it was in the Spring, all the annual flowers, trees and shrubs were in full bloom and it was magnificent. At...

We not only held our daughter's wedding at The Historic Mankin Mansion Memorial Day weekend of 2007 but we booked all the suites and cottages for her wedding party, guests, and parents. Paula & Martin, along with their event coordinator made every detail special and truly made the entire wedding FAIRYTALE! From the time our guests were greeted by the...

Mankin Mansion is a wonderful getaway for us. We live in the area, and absolutely love going. Martin and Paula (the proprietors) go out of their way to make sure everything you could ever need is provided. The rooms are beautiful and luxurious. The cottages are absolutely beautiful and luxurious. Fresh breakfast in the mornings prepared and ready when you...

“The Carriage House was romantic and cozy. The only negative is that it is closest to the road, which is a bit loud during early evening and during the day. It gets quiet at night.”

“The Jefferson Suite is very spacious...has 2 rooms in it. The double shower is a must! The room has everything that you need and a few extras! Gets a little chilly at night....the room is adjacent to the lobby, so you do hear some talking at times, but wasn't an issue at all.”
