Good location in Harvard Square. Close to Harvard campus and a short walk to the T station. Room was clean and spacious. The front desk was polite and helpful. Wanted to extend our stay, but unfortunately the rates had increased exponentially.

Staff at the desk was very friendly and helped with early check in. The room, unlike in many big cities, was large with plenty of room to work and shades that blocked the light. Their bath products seem superior to what I remember from other Sheratons. The lotion was smooth instead of too liquidy

The door to the bathroom would not open even HALFWAY as it HIT THE TOILET!! I have never experienced anything like this in a hotel and was told by the front staff that there was nothing they could do and it was not the only room with the this situation! We are not big people at all and could barely get in the room. "Historic" is no excuse for allowing this dangerous situation and what SHOULD be a major code violation. If someone fell in this bathroom there would be NO WAY to get them out. Strongly advise finding somewhere else to stay or at least ask to inspect rooms before settling in (our room was 243). If they skimped on safety here it makes me wonder where else. This room should NOT be rented.

I assure you that we are up to code in all areas. This is my second time staying at the Sheraton Commander in the past three months for business. My room was lovely, comfortable, and quiet. While the hotel is older, they have done a wonderful job updating what needed to be updated while keeping the charm of an historic building. I love everything about this hotel! Bed was comfortable. Plenty of ways to charge my electronic devices. Excellent wifi. Desk and chair were comfortable. The staff were always friendly and helpful and provided me literally everything I needed for a comfortable stay. They asked when I wanted maid service and provided me with extra towels, coffee cups, and all else when I didn't want to be interrupted. Harvard Square is a very short walk, 5-10 minutes. And Harvard Business School is also an easy walk, maybe 20 minutes. Plenty of restaurants close by. I will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Boston!

We booked a room for a weekend. The location is an 8 minute walk from Harvard Square. I found the front desk to be friendly and helpful. The hotel room was small but spacious enough for the two of us. It had a small foyer with an adequate closet, a desk, and a chair with lamp for reading. There was a reading light in the room for the chair but I would have liked to been able to brighten up the space a little more. Overall, we had a very nice stay and would stay there again.

This is an older hotel that has successfully kept some of its attractive older decor but is also sufficiently modern to meet a visitor's expectations. We had a very large king room, with a couch and chairs, The room could have used an additional lamp or two, as it was a little dim. The king bed, while comfortable was quite high and a challenge for a shorter person to access. The bathroom was fine and, and we were provided plenty of towels. The hotel is in a traffic congested area, and it's a little tricky to load and unload luggage. The adjacent parking lot is very convenient. We only stayed one night but would consider staying there again.

Well I guess we have to live without our rooms being cleaned. But we should not have to live with hostility and bars closing at 10. We had 18 people staying this week, and we arrived at the bar at 9:20 we were aggressively told that last call would be in 10 minutes. When we asked why we were told the bar closed at 10. When we said why last call at 9:30 she said they wanted us out at 10. We ordered drinks and did not get them for 20 minutes. At 10 we were told we had to move to the lobby. In the lobby we were told we had to "quiet down". There was not attempt to make us happy. It is ridiculous to close a bar at 10, and more ridiculous to be aggressive about it.

Hotel itself is fine. Despite being packed on a Wednesday, restaurant informed us at 9:20pm that they were preparing to do last call in 10-15 minutes. Preparing for their 10 pm closure. Manager asked us to leave at 10:07, despite just serving us drinks. Indicated we should go to lobby. Front desk clerk then asked us to keep it quiet. Really an unwelcoming vibe. Would not recommend.

The staff here,from front desk check in personnel to maids, to restaurant servers all exhibited similar traits - wonderfully friendly as well as efficient. They made our stay here so pleasant. As Titanium Bonvoy members, we were upgraded in advance to a 1 bedroom suite using SNA certs. .Well done!

Great location but the rest is blah. We frequent this area because our children go to Harvard. We usually stay at the Charles Hotel but thought to give this a try for this visit. I understand the The Charles is higher price point for it semes like the better value for me (esp when booking with Amex FHR) No upgrade on check in ( Marriott Gold but it’s a slow weekend so was hoping for a nice view at least), room is dark and small, old radiator like ventilation system, limited restaurant offering, lounge is closed. Unless I get a really good deal at this hotel, I will be staying at the Charles.
