"Located near Harvard and Tufts universities, our industrial-chic hotel blends the history of Cambridge with all the modern comforts you expect." Industrial-chic is doing a huge amount of work here. Somewhere in the 1980s an ambitious group of architects were given an opportunity to build a fantastic Mies van der Rohe style building, but then had their souls destroyed when they found that their budget would only stretch to an anonymous box in an anonymous car-park. It's neither industrial, nor chic. If there was any blending of history here it was blended into neutrality. And unfortunately when I visited it lacked two of the major comforts I expect of a hotel, a bar and food. Now that may well be because of Covid, and normally I'd say 'fair enough'. But not at this price. So, yes, the staff were fine (I wouldn't go much further than that, but again, Covid, no bar, no restaurant, not much opportunity to interact, so they may be paragons of virtue), but everything else pulls this hotel firmly down to the two star category.…
I had an unexpected trip to Cambridge to visit a sick family member. This hotel has been renovated and is really nice. There's a fire pit in the courtyard, a large common area. The bar wasn't open, but it looks to be very nice and the breakfast are (also not open due to Covid) looks great, too. Lots of art decorated the common area. The room was comfortable and clean. Mini-fridge and coffee maker helped with late-nights and early mornings. The best part about the stay was the staff, especially Yodit who was so kind and acommodating to my family during a difficult time. We will return and look forward to seeing the hotel when Covid is a just a memory. The location is perfect for walking into Harvard Square or around Fresh Pond. Starbuck's is in the hotel and Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are next door, too!…
Great experience staying here, its clean, its very nice hotel for the price.. also you got a wholefoods next door and a fully functional Starbucks inside the building. The staff has been amazing! Troy checked me in and it was by far the smoothest checkin ever. I also want to add, I ran into an issue and needed documentation printed, Troy went out of his way to ensure I got the prints I needed and even provided me with envelope for the documents saving me time! Thank You Troy, you make the difference for this hotel!
I first want to very clearly state what is VERY BAD about this location: 1. It is all but IMPOSSIBLE to find. The sign is not lit and it looks like an old apartment building from the outside. I literally circled 3 times before I just had to call the hotel. My first thought was "How can this be a HILTON???" 2. The parking lot is VERY VERY DARK - like, I cannot believe it's legal. There were people with their belongings in a shopping cart sleeping in the adjoining parking structure, making catcalls at me as I walked back to my car in the dark to place the "free parking" I received on my dashboard. Scary. And why on earth they charge for parking to being with is beyond me, the lot is a shambles and so unsafe 3. I did digital check in and was asked very loudly what my room number was for the parking pass while there were other people in the lobby- so I showed the digital key and my room number was said OUT LOUD which is against basic safety& security 4. The photos online are a great example of what filters, lighting & angles can do - no photos of the outside on purpose, and forget that great looking food because no food is available. 5. I felt so unsafe, I wanted to barricade the door with a chair...but alas, no chair on the room. No-one wears a uniform so you cannot tell who is an employee. I could not wait to leave and was asked by literally every employee if I was checking out and what my room number was What was GREAT: Noah gave amazing service, but he should not need to ask for positive surveys (or give "free parking" for them) - in my opinion he is TOO GOOD for this place - just give the best service you can and let the reviews shine as a result. You can tell management is pushing for reviews, but they are misleading, because this place is just an awful place to stay. I just felt the need to warn others because I was just appalled - the condition of the room was bad, with the tub cracked, the lotion used (empty). Plenty of other options in the area!…
I needed to make a room reservation and Noah at Freepoint Hotel in Cambridge MA was wonderful! He was very accommodating, friendly and professional and helped me secure a room reservation at Freepoint. It is a wonderful experience to be met with someone who delivers such great customer service...
OMG we had such a wonderful time! Bunch of girlfriends and Noah always welcomed us home at night. Even hooked us up with the perfect pre-show dinner at Scampo where his hook up had us feeling like VIP's. You must spend time by the fire pit. One great thing about Freepoint is the room to spread out, both in the lovely rooms and also in the lobby/living room!
Checking in was seamless and Noah was so kind and helpful. He was able to offer me a better room rate than Expedia and provided wonderful recommendations on what to do in Boston. Felt very at home and looking forward to the rest of my stay.
This is our 5th time staying at the Freepoint Hotel hanging out with family. Every thing is clean, pretty and the staff especially Noah, Chantel, and Desiree couldn’t be more helpful, professional and welcoming. It feels like a home away from home. Our Theodora loves it too!!
I never write hotel reviews; however, Noah was so exceptional that I felt compelled to share. The hotel is comfortable and convenient to Harvard. Another plus is that the hotel is attached to a Starbucks. Shortly after I checked in to my room, extremely tired from a long flight day, I discovered that the air was not working. I called the front desk and Noah came right away. He was so friendly and did his best to rectify my situation. After trying unsuccessfully to fix the air, Noah went downstairs and brought a key up for another room. He made sure that I was comfortable and settled in my new room. Each day, he is a ray of sunshine. The hotel is great but I would return just because of Noah’s personality and professionalism. Noah is a bright light.
We stayed at the Freepoint for a 4 night stay in Boston in June 2022. It was perfectly located in Cambridge with easy access to public transit and local establishments. Our stay was made exceptionally special by one particular staff member who went above and beyond to make our experience a special and unique one. Noah, the afternoon shift front desk agent always greeted us with a warm welcoming smile and bubly personality each time we crossed paths. Noah was especially kind enough to recommend local must see destinations, and even went out of his way to call ahead and personally make a reservation for us, ensuring that we recieved VIP treatment upon arrival. It was very clear to see that Noah has a true passion for what he does and his exemplary customer service skills prove this. As someone who has worked in the service industry for many years, I can attest that Noah is an asset to the industry and the Freepoint hotel. We look forward to coming back, thanks for everything!
