I've stayed at the Kendall Hotel many times, because its location is ideal for visiting MIT and it has far more character than other hotels in the area. I was sorely let down on my last visit. The room was extremely hot, and when I asked the staff for help correcting the temperature, they made it hotter rather than cooler.... More

First, thank you for staying with us on several occasions, nothing is a greater compliment than a repeat guest! I am sorry to read your recent visit fell short of exceeding your expectations. I apologize our thermostat was set on warm rather than cool - I completely understand how vexing this is as I prefer to sleep in a colder... More

This traditional hotel is placed close to MIT campus. The building is a former fire figther house. The rooms are furnitured in a art deco type of style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. A special remark on the breakfast: just excellent!

Stayed at The Kendall Hotel July 21-23 on our way to pick up our daughter attending camp in NH. Even after reading about the historical elements of the property, never imagined all the effort and details that went into turning the original Engine 7 Firehouse into a most comfortable and quaint boutique hotel. It is actually registered as a National... More

We stay here every time we visit our MIT student and it always feels like home. The staff is always so attentive, the beds comfortable, the rooms have everything you ever need - refridges, microwaves to warm up leftovers and they always leave waters. The daily fireman's breakfast is spectacular with eggs, amazing bacon, waffles, homemade granola and yogurt just... More

Came to visit MIT and Boston. Hotel, and staff were fantastic. Hotel location couldn't be better as "T" staion is across the street and 2 stops from downtown. Fabulous restaurants are a walk away. It was very clean, room was great, and loved the Ladder company 7 blanket so much that I bought one. I live in Chicago, and chill... More

Nice rooms with the world's most comfortable bed! Cute and quirky decorations throughout the hotel. Very convenient to the subway, 7-11 and a bottle store. The Blacksheep Restaurant serves great food. Free wine tasting from 5pm to 6pm :-) A little pricey but well worth the money.

Enjoyed staying here two nights. Modern with a traditional New England feel. There is no guest parking and overnight parking is a little steep (maybe not for the area though). They will charge you full overnight parking if you have someone visit you for a few hours. And they aren't too helpful with suggesting public parking alternatives.

We have stayed here once before. I love the decor and antiques throughout. There is even limited parking under the new part of the building. A few restaurants across the street. Breakfast buffet is very good and convenient for a start to your day. Large bathroom for a hotel. Excellent cleanliness and staff courtesy. Wine hour is a nice perk... More

Thank you for returning as our guest! The greatest compliment we have our guests who return to stay with us. I am glad you were able to enjoy all of our extra amenities like the wine hour and our fabulous breakfast - we use fresh, house-made items on our buffet. Our eggs are actually "cracked" the morning of and not... More

Hotel is in Cambridge, so if your up to it walking across the bridge (to the Right) will take approx 20 mins. However there is a T stop a couple of minutes away. The hotel is an old firehouse and they have kept this theme in the reception area. Room wasn't available when we first got there but they stored... More

Thank you for sharing your experience about The Kendall and our great city on TripAdvisor. The Kendall is very convenient to all the things that make Boston & Cambridge a great city to visit. The room was excellently appointed and very comfortable. I loved the patriotic theming that was tastefully done. The beds were VERY comfortable. The lobby and common areas are inviting, the happy hour on the top floor lounge was fun, and the staff were incredibly helpful. The only thing to be aware of is that this hotel is right in the... Thank you very much for the complimentary review, Jill. I am so glad to read that you enjoyed your stay at the Kendall - particularly our wine hour and friendly, helpful staff. It is true the MIT campus lacks the ivy-covered , historic aesthetic of Harvard University, but fortunately, as you pointed out, a taste of that style of academia... More
