Property's Favourite Review
This is a great place to stay when in the Boston area. Sonder is a safe quiet and comfortable place to enjoy a night or 6. Location is perfect with close proximity to the rail system to get anywhere in Boston. The restaurant and bar on property are wonderful and there is also a great French bakery on street level for a quick bite and coffee to start the day.

If you are visiting Kendall Square, Central Square or anywhere in that vicinity, there is literally no better location than 907 Main, which right at the intersection of Main and Massachusetts thoroughfares in between the two squares. The check-in and check-out experience could not be more seamless - I used my phone to get into the building and room and didn't need to interact with anyone. I expected the room to be a shoebox, but it was surprisingly spacious even with a king size bed. Sonder is thoughtful about the layout, amenities and furniture in the room to maximize utility and space. You have to know what you're getting into (relatively small room and no front desk if you need anything), but if you're OK with it, the value for money is fantastic. Would definitely stay again.

I was very pleased with my stay at Sonder; the bed was large and comfortable, the wifi worked perfectly, the shower had good hot water with good pressure. Everything was clean and worked well. I asked via the app for a clothes iron in the room and this was provided, as well as good quality towels and toiletries such as shower gel/shampoo/conditioner. There was even a bar upstairs and another downstairs, which I thought would make the room very noisy but actually I wasn't bothered at all. The location is good, not far from a metro station and convenient for access to Harvard and MIT. Honestly, I can't fault Wonder for anything and especially considering this was much cheaper than other hotels I had looked at, which didn't have such a great central location either. I'd certainly recommend Sonder to other visitors to the city!

+1
This was a great location in terms of proximity to restaurants and coffee shops, as it is located right in Central Square. However, there is a large homeless population in this area, so it did not feel the most safe at night when the streets were emptier (which is probably in part due to COVID). The hotel is really beautiful; it respects historic features on the outside and is very modern on the inside. The best part of the hotel was the modern and trendy vibe.
I know this hotel only recently opened, so the critiques I have may represent some growing pains, though I figured I'd still share. The front entrance is not very grand and at first I could not tell if the door was to the restaurant or the hotel, so better signage would have been helpful. They do not have doormen nor electric doors, so when I came in with two wheeled bags, it was pretty difficult for me to get through the doors and it would of course, be a challenge for anyone in a wheelchair.
The hotel room was the smallest room I've ever been in. I do know that they have larger rooms but was totally shocked that a room as small as mine even existed. There was nowhere to place my luggage and no drawers to even unpack my clothing into. There was a small hanging rack but it was very high (I'm 5' 8" and it was hard for me to reach). There was a kind sized bed in the room that, with the nightstands, was flush wall-to-wall. The bathroom had no counter space for toiletries.
In terms of the service, while the hotel staff was all very pleasant, they did not have many resources. We could not get an Uber/Lyft one night and I asked the person at the front desk if they could call a taxi for me or provide me with a phone number and they had no recommendations and were unable to help me. I was shocked that a hotel was not able to assist with transportation. Lastly, the hotel is lacking some basic features such as a gym and parking. For the gym, they had told us that they had a partnership with a local gym, but upon arrival at the gym, the gym had never heard of the hotel and we had to pay $20 for a day pass. For parking, there were a couple of municipal parking garages that were about a 5 minute walk away, which was fine. Though again, at night, the walk through Central Square was a bit sketchy and it would have been nice to have valet.
All in all, it is a nice hotel but has some definite room to grow. If you are not planning on being in the hotel much and have a short stay, I think it could be a good option especially given the lack of hotels in the area.

The good: This “hotel” has a great location, is recently constructed with modern furnishings, and had reliable high speed wifi for video calls.
The ugly: I was misled by the previously wonderful reviews for this property — management/ownership has changed and this is no longer a real hotel! It is now fully digitally managed with no staff working on site. This means no typical hotel conveniences like a front desk check in, keycards (frustrating code must be entered each time to enter the building or enter your room), luggage storage (checkout is early so schlep your stuff around all day), or any real humans to help you. Check in must be done in advance through an app which requires lengthy information and sending in a photo of your drivers license.
God forbid you need to contact someone because it is all done through the app that restarts the conversation with a new rep in a foreign country every 5 minutes. I had six repeat conversations to request an umbrella before being told no umbrellas are available at all in the “hotel”.
Room sizes are super tiny (I even booked a larger room than standard) and the lighting feels clinical.
This might have been ok if clearly advertised as a non-staffed experience or at a lower price point but i actually paid more to stay here (over $350/night) than the four star full service hotel I later moved to, with rooms twice the size.

Really enjoyed the stay at 907. The staff was so accommodating and the whole stay was relaxing. The rooms have a great modern vibe and are a fun escape from the usual cookie cutter hotel vibe.
The staff was very responsive through the text service and it took no time at all to grab an extra towel during my stay. I really appreciated the text feature since it didn’t require an app or anything like that.
The room was wonderful. The charm of this hotel and the modern flair they added is super cool. The room was well appointed, extremely clean and comfortable. I really enjoyed the bay window bench in my room. It was a great spot to have my morning coffee and look out at the happenings of central square.
I can’t wait to go back and enjoy this great spot again soon.

This is a nice little hotel in a good location but there are some issues that keep me from rating it a five. First of all the "spacious" king room we had was really tiny. It would be better with a queen bed. The sheets don't really seem to fit the mattress very well and we had to completely remake the bed after our first night. The shower looks quite nice but the shower head is strange and cheap and the shower curtain is nearly useless. You cannot plug the sink for shaving or rinsing out some socks. And there is very little space for clothes or anything else. The front desk was staffed every day we were there and they were all quite friendly and helpful. If we come to Cambridge again, we may well stay here but I would opt for a double queen room.

I hadn’t been to Boston in over a decade. This hotel was the perfect place to stay to get reacquainted with the city. The room was a standard sized hotel room, but was beautifully appointed and clean. I particularly liked the bay window with the semi circular couch and table, the revealed rough brick wall and the very comfortable bed. I also liked the fact that cleaning is only done by request since I prefer not to have the room done till I leave. The only downsides to the room were that there wasn’t much counter space in the bathroom, the rack to hang clothes in lieu of a closet was directly over the coffee and tea service so my clothing was draped over and blocked access to them, and the phone key option was a bit finicky. But those were minor issues easily made up for by the rest of the hotel’s attributes including a front desk staff that was friendly and helpful.
I loved the location of the hotel - it’s surrounded by great food and is within walking distance of Harvard and downtown. I walked to the aquarium, Chinatown, and the commons twice, sat in the square in front of the hotel and listened to music, and sampled several good restaurants. If you don’t want to walk, the subway is quite close. And there’s a French patisserie around the corner.

The room was spacious and super clean. The location was excellent. Very close to MIT and a short bus ride to Harvard Square. Many restaurants to choose from on Massachusetts Avenue, including one of my favorite bakeries: "Flour", which was two blocks away.
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also very good - great water pressure in the shower.

907 Main was absolutely the best choice for us as to where to stay while moving our son into MIT during a pandemic and more. Every staff person in the hotel and restaurant was warm and attending, a lovely combination of hip and professional and followed good covid-precautions. Our double room was spacious with comfortable beds and extremely soft towels (I wish I had at home). They left a welcome gift bag for our son with a few MIT goodies and were empathetic with us when we came back from leaving him on campus. The price was extremely fair. The location was a 10 minute walk to the main buildings of MIT and a 5 minute walk to the subway. They easily adjusted for us when we got stuck in Boston without any flights to Texas for two days. Please, please try this hotel so that it will be successful and there for all of us for years to come.
