My room was surrounded by common areas. It had thin walls and even though I am not a light sleeper, I barely slept because it was incredibly noisy. There were also flies buzzing around the room that kept landing on me in the night. I only booked this room because it is somewhat conveniently located as a starting off point...

The bad reviews are spot on, unfortunately. I wish I had read them more thoroughly before I stayed here. 1. No staff. No one answers the phone. I met two other couples who came in after I did and we collectively finally figured out how to access our rooms. 2. Hot tub (a major selling point) was lukewarm and full...

Okay, I will start with the positives (albeit few): First, check in was super easy, you just use the code and get the key to your room and you are good to go. Room was clean and cozy, it's certainly not the nicest or most luxurious but that's to be expected based on prior research of this hotel. Beds were...

Pluses: Cool looking log cabin at the foot of Eyjafjallajokull, breakfast included in cost of accomodation, comfortable beds and room. Minuses: The lobby and lounge areas are barraged by flies, lots of them. Our room only had one fly, but the British couple downstairs had >12 of them in their room. Our room's door jamb was broken. I called the...

That was just amazing stay! I do not understand what people are complaining of.... Self check in 10 out of 10: no waiting, no form filling. All clear - room number and code... Do not need to be genius for that.... If thats too hard for someone, look for hotel that is not advertised as a self check in. The...

This not a good hotel and certainly not for its price. Our room stank! I thought it was only our room, but when sitting in the lounge, a door of a room adjacent to the lounge was opened and it had the same smell. Some reviewers here said it was because of the humidity, but of the 6 hotels we...

So, this place is in the middle of no where. Minimum 10 min drive to the closest restaurant, even further to the nearest town. To check in you need to have the access code from the email they send or you're pretty well screwed... the staff are hardly present, speak zero English, and are not exactly friendly. Our room was...

My family of 4 stayed here for one night. There is no check-in desk. We arrived late but had no problem in getting into our room , since there was a key-lock with a combination code that was emailed to us earlier. The room was very roomy , a log cabin style. 4 comfortable clean beds. The bathroom was clean...

This has to be one of the strangest and worst hotels we've ever stayed at. The only reason we booked it was because we couldn't find any other available room in south Iceland. They send you your room number and code by email. If you happen to not have it handy, good luck. No one answers the phone in the...

These owners have no place in the hotel industry. They are totally unfit to work in this business and I don't think they give a damn besides cashing the money. We stayed in self check-in hotels all over Iceland. There is always someone to answer the phone and troubleshoot and sometimes we got to properties after midnight. Still, someone ALWAYS...
