We arrived around 7pm. The entrance was locked and we were buzzed in. Waited for the receptionist for 10 minutes. She was friendly and helpful. Got a room on the third floor, wifi signal was OK. The kitchen on the first floor was fully equipped. Weird sweet smell in the hallways and the rooms are small. Not recommended.

This is a guest house not a hotel so I am at a loss to understand reviewers who complain about the shared bathrooms and basic rooms. The desk clerk was friendly and very helpful, the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was huge and all facilities were immaculate. I did not experience any strange smells as other reviewers noted. Breakfast was...

For some reason we decided to drive to Saudarkrokur and booked a room at this place. If you decide to travel to a remote place like Saudarkrokur you shouldn't expect too much. According to Booking.com the room had TV and wifi is available, toilets and showers are shared. The TV didn't work and wifi is depending on where your room...

We stayed here to spread out the drive from Husavik to Reykjavik. It's in horse country, so don't be surprised by the smell. It is expensive for what you get. It's out-dated and has a funky smell. The floors creek so you can hear every footstep. The bed was comfortable and the guest kitchen was spacious. I wouldn't stay here...

This was a sweet and cosy place. Our family of 5 stayed in a twin and a triple room for 1 night, booked as part of a circular trip by Iceland Unlimited. I should point out that we had opted to stay in budget accommodation (with shared facilities) for our trip and we like small and friendly places, so I’m...

we stayed one night at this guesthouse on our trip. When we arrived there was no-one to let us in or at check in. We were locked out and had to ring for the owner to come down. The room was small but adequate. There was not a great view. The shower was clean and the water was hot. The...

Our room was very small and smelled bad. The TV did not work and our windows were next to the main entrance where everyone passed - so very loud. All doors were awry, so they had to be banged whenever entering or leaving the room/building - we did not sleep much. We would not come here again.

The guesthouse looks a little old and worn down on the outside, but the rooms inside are adequate but small. We really enjoyed the breakfast spread and the friendly lady who prepared it. We had been filling our water bottles with tap water during our trip. But at this guesthouse/town, the water had a very strong sulfur smell and actually...

Very small room. The only possiblity to sit was on our beds. Furhermore it was a very warm room and hard to ventilate. Only a small window could be opened. Noisy surroundings but that's optional because of a festival. Breakfast was ok. If you can, avoid it.

This converted guesthouse ( from a boarding school I heard) is situated in the center of the town ( the town itself looks like a charming one-street affair steeped in history with old and cute wooden houses proudly stating the family name and the year of its construction; mostly early 20th century) and is good value for money. They have...
