The matron was friendly and courteous. She gave everyone a knock at 9pm if their lights were on to advise that northern lights were going. It was right above our head! The room was spacious although less heated then others I'd stayed in and the bathroom had next to no shelves and open shower meaning the floor got wet. Dinner...

This is where my husband redeemed himself after driving me through the middle of nowhere for over 3 hours to get to this town and Guesthouse. The only place that had a room available after 11pm at night. The manager on duty was at home sleeping when we called to inquire about a room, she came in just for us...

The cottages of Hoffstadir sit on top of a ridge with amazing views of the estuary. In the morning the horses are there and in the evening the sunsets are incredible, even in May at 11pm. Our cottage # 4 was spacious with 3 individual beds. Two terraces, one towards the estuary and another at the entrance with views of...

Absolutely beautiful views of the mountains and fields. The most comfortable beds and pillows throughout our whole trip! Very friendly staff. Independent restaurant with no set menu, but wonderful food.

The chalets are warm, clean and comfortable and have a seating area...

Rooms were cozy and gave to a beautiful view. You have access to the river behind the guesthouse site. If you're looking for a place to dine, eat there!! The food was amazing. Had horse steak and lamb

Stayed at the guesthouse for one night during our travels throughout Iceland. This is by far on of the most amazing accommodation that I have had the privilege of staying in. Their are only about 12 or so rooms on this property. They are on top of a bluff over looking a Fiord that leads out to the sea. Standing...

We had the lovely opportunity in residing in the guesthouse a few steps away from the reception and I have to say it was the best hotel/guesthouse experience I have ever had. The shear enjoyment of having room that close to nature is just wonderful. Furthermore room ammenities were ok (nothing special but literally did not require to be) but...

We were booked in to the guesthouse but our room was actually in the main farmhouse, a few hundred metres (a drive) away from the rest of the purpose-built rooms and the restaurant. It was all wood and very atmospheric and cosy. The breakfast at the restaurant in the main guesthouse area was the best we had anywhere in Iceland....

We had a fantastic stay at Guesthouse Hofsstadir. Our host was excellent. He thought of every detail. He knew how to look after guests. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Our view over the surrounding countryside was beautiful. Breakfast was generous! I highly recommend staying here.
