We spent one pleasant night at the Fosshotel Reykholt. The hotel enjoys a very quiet setting near two churches – one old and one new. Our room was on the second floor and had a nice view over an interior courtyard. The room was spacious with two twin beds, a small refrigerator and a water boiler with coffee/tea supplied. All...

We travelled Iceland by self drive and normally looked for accommodation around our area late afternoons. On a specific day, we struggled to find a place close by and decided to stay at the Fosshotel Reykholt. The price seemed somewhat on the higher side for what you get. The rooms are older and need some attention. In the late nights,...

This hotel was quite disappointing considering the cost. The rooms were very basic and stuffy. The restaurant is prohibitively expensive and take advantage of the fact that there is nothing else in town to choose from. A short 5 minute drive down the road provides some additional dining choice as long as it's not after 9 pm. The breakfast however...

Fosshotel Reykholt is a bit older than some Fosshotels, but has a relaxed feel, with nice, spacious rooms, and an extremely friendly and accommodating staff. We soaked in the hot tubs outside while it was sleeting--sublime! The restaurant was excellent: dinner began with bread served with a pesto spread and a tomato and onion spread, both wonderful. The hotel is...

Fosshotel Reykholt is a little out of the way of most of the major attractions in this part of Iceland (about 25-30mins from Borgarnes), but it's worth the drive. After a week of dealing with shower stalls that got water everywhere, I was delighted to see an actual bathtub shower in this hotel. The rooms are spacious (rare for Iceland)...

This hotel was luxurious, but did not have an elevator (only two stories). The room was large, and there were amenities such as a business center, a massage chair and table, and a hot tub. The restaurant served excellently prepared food, and was willing to accommodate special requests.

Stayed for 2 nights as part of a driving tour of Iceland. Hotel comfortable, but quite basic.A good stopping point for touring that area. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. We ate in the restaurant and it was good but very expensive.

I stayed there for 1 night this month and found the dinner (a salad as starter and a main course of cod that I chose) the best among all 4 Fosshotels where I stayed on the 8-day trip in Iceland. Dear Teruce Thank you for taking the time to write a review about Fosshótel Reykholt. This will help us improving our service in the future. We do not have any phones in the rooms, but they will be installed in the future. Instead we offer a wake up “knock” and over the winter time, we offer a Northern Lights “knock”....
