The long dirt road to get there is a little 'difficult and sometimes scary but it's worth it. The views, during the journey and at arrival, are fantastic. The hotel is on a wonderful white/yellow beach. The apartments are in some old containers and they are comfortable. The staff is friendly and they had given us very good advice to...

Let´s get this straight: this guest house does not have the ammeneties of a cosy hotel or anything like that. But I would not expect this here, really. What I´d like is a dry bed in a warm room for a reasonable price (which it was) and a huge smile from friendly staff and owner (e.g. Birna), which I got....

We wanted to see the puffins at the most western part of Iceland and actually at the most western part of Europe! The only way to stay close to that magnificent place, was to spend the night at Breidavik. We ended up staying 3 nights. It did cost us an arm and a leg but we found that the whole...

We are on a one month Iceland tour, having been here two years ago for two weeks. All our arrangements were made by Nordic Visitor as part of a self drive tour, so, we don't know the specific prices for accommodation. Nordic Visitor, in their tour packages offer three types of accommodation and we booked comfort accommodation (private bathroom, "nice"...

We stopped for some lunch. What we got was an overpriced soup from a packet and stale bread, the only upside was the complementary coffee which was fine. As added disappointment there was bad smell in the main room but it was better where we sat on the patio. The toilettes where filthy for Icelandic standards. I would not recommend...

This is where you stay when you go to Latraberg to see the puffins. There aren't any other options, really. Yup, they are shipping containers. They were adequate, though nothing to write home about. The wifi was virtually non-existent in the restaurant and completely non-existent in the sipping container rooms. Go for a walk on the beach and spend as...

There are about 20 rusty containers (the type that are used for transporting cars or furniture on ships) lined up, it was absolutely unbelievable. So, you walk into the container to find a bathroom to the left, straight on is a bedroom with no pictures, plastic spoons and paper cups for coffee - everything is cheap - from the tiny...

We spent in this hotel just one night while we were going back to Reykjavik. The hotel itself is really basic but it is enough clean, but not all rooms have private bathroom available, so remember to ask for that if you like to have it. The restaurant serves only few kind of meals but nicely cooked. With regards to...

We stayed in one of the container pods. The look kind of industrial from the outside but are quite cosy once you get inside. The bathroom wasn't great though, and it was the only place in all of Iceland that we ran out of hot water and the little tank in each room takes forever to reheat. Dinner and breakfast...

We stayed in many places in Iceland during our trip. This one has only one advantage - excellent location. It's nearest place under roof to cliffs at Latrabjarg. Except this nothing interesting - small beds, other people in restaurant are disturbing you (our room was nest to restaurant), basically equiped kitchen, a lot of guest (you should book your room...
