Sadly none of the hotels in Springfield are rated top of the line. I booked this one after canceling a different one because their breakfast was closed. It’s an older hotel, could use some updates for certain. It was clean, the pool was nice, beds were decent (except the pull out couch one) and breakfast was good. We had a cricket visit us in the middle of the night on our beds, how it got in on the 3rd floor is beyond me but he was there. Also until you checked into the hotel you were not informed that the water would be turned off at 8:30am the next morning. We had non-refundable rooms so we had to make due with not being able to sleep in. They tried shutting it off early as my daughters friend got stuck with soap in their hair at 8:10. Thankfully it went back on until 8:30. Overall a solid stay, unless another hotel is built this will likely be our go to.…
Recently, my wife and I had a two night stay at this Hampton Inn in Springfield to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and his home. We were greeted by Max who welcomed us and checked us in the hotel. He reviewed all the services that they offered. He also gave us some restaurant suggestions for our stay and informed us about the Manger Reception that night. Our hotel room was very clean and neat. We also appreciated all the hotel’s special Covid modifications for cleanliness and social distancing. This included no daily cleaning of the room unless it was requested. We were fine with that safety precaution as well. We went to the Manger Reception and Gary was the employee who ran the reception. They had great appetizers and even beer and wine. He was very friendly and made sure we got all the food and beverages we needed. The hotel breakfast was a buffet of hot and cold items. All foods were covered and/or individually wrapped. They provided great healthy food choices depending on what you wanted. All the tables and chairs were socially distanced apart. The staff was friendly and made sure no food items ran out for any guests. While in the breakfast area, we saw a white board with recommended restaurants and coffee shops in the area. It was a nice local touch for restaurant recommendations. After visiting all the sites, we checked out with Jen. She was friendly and cordial as we checked out. Other staff members that we had the opportunity to meet during our stay were also very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend staying at this Hampton Inn in Springfield. It is a great hotel with friendly and helpful staff that made our visit memorable.…
Older property but well maintained. Spotless and comfortable. Good location near a Walmart, stores, several restaurants, and most importantly a Tractor Supply Co., so you can look at baby chickens and ducks :)
The staff was super friendly & helpful. They have several recommendations for eateries which we took advantage of - very good & reasonably priced. The hotel itself & rooms are very clean. Breakfast was delicious with more selection than normal. They had a reception on Tuesday evening that was really good. Highly recommend this Hampton. We’ll stay again if in the area
Having chosen for several years now Hampton Inn's as our hotel of choice we selected this location for our current summer vacation on our way to Michigan. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised to find staff working at the front desk upon our arrival where in recent experiences they are no where to be found. Our room was spotless clean including the corners of the room and bathroom. No dust bunnies or long term dirt. The beds had the double protection of mattress covers and sheets and spreads were meticulously clean. The morning breakfast was like no other and the attendant kept it fully stocked and clean as a whistle. This is Hapton Inn the way it used to be. We will definitely be returning here!
We went to the land of Lincoln to see the museum, the Lincoln house and the tomb. We stayed one night at this Hampton. Really, this was the best Hampton. The people were nice, and helpful. Clean. Breakfast food was good, well stocked, and staffed. There were tons of little helpful things that I noticed here, that set it apart. There was a huge board with nearby places to eat. Hand sanitizer stations in the lobby and a sign posted that told me how to address any issues I might have with my stay. There were 2 staff members who stood out, as very helpful - the gentleman at the desk when we checked in, and the lady working the breakfast area. Of course, the comfortable bed, adequate wifi, fridge, etc - all that I expect of any Hampton were present as well.
This hotel has clearly marked ample parking spaces. Rooms are ok, not the best and also not that bad. My bed was a bit small, fit for a teenager. Breakfast offerings could include few more popular items.
Max front desk and Johnson development . Have no care for there property or it’s customers .caught the staff talking about my family after we asked them to clean the shower that was not clean we did not ask for anything other than that . Then max procedded to tell me hotel policy’s that where 100% different than what was clearly post on the web site even after I showed him proof to his face. Was told house keeper could not clean shower because that 10 minutes would put her on overtime SHE LIVED IN THE ROOM ACROSS FROM OURS. But yet they found time to stand at front desk and talk about my family and sit outside and smoke cigarettes .AVOID THIS PROPERTY AND ALL JOHNSON DEVELOPMENT PROPERTYS FROM SPRINGFIELD IL LIST CAN BE FOUND ON THERE SITE THIS INCLUDES THE SUBSTADARD HAMPTON INN IN EAST PEORIA IL…
We enjoyed our stay at this Hampton Inn. It was clean and the employees were friendly and helpful. We used the fitness room and the equipment was in good working order. We would stay here again if we were in this area and recommend this hotel!
We booked this hotel at the last minute as we needed a quick overnight stop along the interstate. The location is on the very outskirts of the city and tucked away behind some car dealerships and a grocery store. The pool was great, beds were comfortable, and the breakfast was the best one we had on our cross-country trip. The only thing to avoid is the Steak and Shake down the street. Horrible service and rude people!!
