Loved it! Super clean and spacious. The location was perfect too. Close to I-5 yet far away enough for a nice quiet night. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. They also have mini store in their lobby fully stocked with plenty of yummy snacks and basic needs. Definitely coming back here again.
We arrived at 3:00, time of checkin and they were running a little behind, and it was due to staff shortage. The clerk at the window was so very kind and apologized many times. However, traveling during COVID-19 and staff shortages, I just go with the flow. We got to our room at 3:30 and it was immaculate!! The air conditioner works wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. I have not one negative comment about this hotel and I recommend it if you need a place to stay.
I stayed in room #303 the night of March 26th. I stopped to have a rest on the way back to Chicago, IL. Everything I needed was a place to shower and rest before hitting the road again the day after. The room I was assigned is generous in size, with a king bed and a kitchen area. Its window faces the front of the building, overlooking the parking area. However, room is extremely quite and protected from noise coming from outside. So far so good... I went to take a shower and found hair in the tub. I though they might be mine, although I had not undressed yet. When looking around, I found more and longer on the floor between the tub and the seat. Definitely not mine. At the time of my stay, we are still in the middle of the pandemic. Cleaness and igene are not compromiseable. Although I felt pretty uncomfortable with the situation, I decided not to make a big fuss of it and took my shower anyway. It was when I unfold the bed and found hair between in the sheets that I realised something was definitely wrong. Room had been poorly cleaned and prepared for the next guest. At that point I started quesitoning whether anything in that room had been cleaned at all. I called the front desk, reported the issue and requested assistance. They said they didn't have any staff available at that time (it must have been 9pm) and offered a new set of sheets to pick up from the front desk. I went, picked up the stuffs, did the bed and called the day. I genuinly hope not to feel sick in the next hours. I find totally unacceptable that this hotel has apparently no quality standards to the point that it represents a threat to its guests' health. I have been a IHG member for years. This last experience might put me down to stay in a IHG hotel ever again.…
The front desk staff have been nothing short of amazing! Especially Alyssa. They are so accommodating and friendly. I currently travel to Springfield every other week for work and they have been so great about letting me check in early before work. The housekeeping staff is always working hard. Seriously someone is always cleaning something. It's a great location, well lit and the contemporary design is really pretty. I will certainly be looking to stay at candlewood suites again on my next assignment.
Booked this hotel with a king bed for 12/4/20. When we arrived, Chris, a friendly gentleman at the front desk, informed us we would be in a quiet location - gym next door, but closed at 10. We were tired so we went right to the room - by the elevator. In our preferences, we ask to be away from the elevator, but we were too tired to complain. In the room we were surprised to see a queen size bed. We are not big people, but we are restless sleepers and need space to get a good night’s sleep. I went back out to question Chris, who was still on duty. He told me that in his system, it said KING. This is the third time we have requested a king bed at a Candlewood Suite and gotten a queen. The king size beds at Holiday Inn Exoress 12/3 and at the Hampton on 12/5 were king size! We were also dismayed by the folks who congregated at the elevator. Thankfully they dispersed by bedtime, and we did not have to listen to their loud voices. We would have said something if they had continued talking for a long period of time (only about 20 minutes). The room was clean, and while we were awake, it was nice. Unfortunately, we did not sleep well in the queen.…
After reading the other reviews I was looking forward to my stay here. I must have stayed on an off night. The elevator was covered in moving blankets, I’m not sure why. There was a pervasive odor on the entire second floor. Perhaps from the trash cans in front of the elevator. The room was clean but the mattress was very lumpy. It is nice to have a kitchen and the staff was very friendly.
After a not so good stay at another hotel, I decided to try this one. I am always looking to stay at suites so I can do my own meals and stay healthy. Kenny met me at the front desk. Super friendly! Have my reservation and keys already made. Offered me a snack and water. Got to my room. It was nice and clean and just what I needed. Kenny even called my room to check on me and make sure everything was ok. The bed was comfortable and lots of pillows. There was plenty of dishes and things to cook with. But they only give you two plates, two forks, two spoons, so you may need to wash something between prepping and actually eating. They also have a lending center that has crock pots and blenders and griddles, waffle iron and pretty much any small appliance you can think of..love that idea. I had a great stay and will make this my place of choice while in springfield. Which is quite often. …
I stayed for almost 2 weeks. The hotel was very clean and appeared recently renovated. As an extended stay customer, I was glad to have a large fridge, 2 burner stove, and a few pots and pans with utensils to cook 3 meals a day. Maid service is once a week, with free laundry complete with newer machines. Price is very reasonable commensurate with provided services.
The room we had was set up for single occupancy although had a queen bed. The room had excellent amenities. Was only lighting on one side of bed so difficult to read in bed. Bed wasn’t real comfortable but desk advised us will be replaced when renovations which are in progress are done.
Stayed here for one night as part of a Route 66 trip, as we had a busy and long trip from Chicago we were fairly late in the evening arriving, check in was easy and efficient and there are quite a few eating choices within walking distance. The room was very large, clean and comfortable. Morning check out staff also very nice and helpful.
