We visited in autumn (fall) in 2019 and it was the perfect place to stay. We'd started in Chicago and were on a Route 66 trip. Springfield was our first stop. We'd heard this place had great charm and hospitality and we weren't let down by Tony Leone, the owner. I would recommend it to all route 66 travelers. Enjoy!
Old 1896 mansion that is not your traditional B & B. Full suite of rooms but no freshly made breakfast in the morning. You order at night for the next morning and you have to heat it up, Rubbery eggs and soggy granola in the yogurt. We skipped it and ate out. Place is clean but is cluttered with area rugs and needless furniture. Bed was soft and sagged so needs replacement. Owners are nice people. Centrally located to Lincoln must sees.
Comfortable large room, nice bed, with some quirks like the window shades don't operate very well. Terrific location for business at the Capitol or state offices. Breakfast was offered but never served in the AM. Management is excellent when they are around.
My wife and I had a great stay at the Pasfield House. We stayed just one night; we were on our way to Missouri to cycle the Katy Trail and had limited time. The location was great, across the street from the Illinois State Capital and walking distance to the historic district and the Lincoln Library and Museum. We had a standard room (no sitting area) which was fine. Breakfast was "pre-loaded" in the evening and we ate in our room - not great but had the advantage of being able to eat on our own schedule. Tony Leone, the proprietor, was great - allowing us to keep our bicycles in his office and out of the rain. He is also a Springfield native and incredibly knowledgeable about the city and its attractions.
Had a beautiful room. Loved the history that surrounded this house. Our first time staying in a a Bed and Breakfast. Will not be our last. Tony and his staff were helpful and kind. Our room was amazing, so happy that I found this B and B. I give this place a 100% thumbs up.
The house may have once been beautiful and elegant, now it has a run down feel and is quite cluttered in areas. Some of the once beautiful furniture could use a good cleaning and some should be reupholstered. That being said, the sheets were clean and we had nice new clean towels each day. However, the “Breakfast” part of Bed & Breakfast was a complete failure! We chose our 3 breakfasts online before we got there. The choices were 4 different kinds of egg strata ( described on the Pasfield House website as crustless quiche) what we got were scrambled eggs cooked on Friday for our Saturday breakfast, kept in our room refrigerator overnight for us to microwave in the morning. The side of potatoes was flat little wedge they got out of a box. It was on a plate wrapped in plastic and placed in the room fridge the night before. It tasted nasty! I could go on.....I did want to comment to the owner or the one employee about the breakfast after the first morning, but I didn’t see anyone the first morning, or night, nor the second morning. No one around the day we left, either.…
We wanted to spend a night in Lincoln’s home city and picked this beautiful mansion. The owner, Tony Leone is wonderful. The suites are comfortable, beautiful and with modern bathrooms. Includes a home made breakfast. Highly recommended.
I would rate this place 0 Stars if I could. Tony The Innkeeper, and Cathy his girlfriend slash event planner, apparently do not need or want any business from the outside public. My fiance and I were looking into this place as a venue for our wedding, after leaving several messages, emails, spoke on the phone with Tony 2 times, they never followed through with our event. We took it upon ourselves to go check out the establishment, it was so run down, overgrown, we could definitely tell they have not had a venue there in a long time. So my advice to you, is to stay clear! You will just end up playing the cat-and-mouse game like we did.
We received a very warm welcome on arrival. The inn is fascinating. The restoration has been sympathetically completed. Our room was lovely with period furniture and soft furnishings. Very close to main complex and Frank Lloyd Wright’s house (stunning). Unique.
The Pastfield House Inn is a great place to stay with amazing history and across from the Illinois State Capital in walking distance of Abraham Lincoln’s Home and downtown Springfield with The Old State Capital historic buildings to see
