We spent 2 weeks in Iceland -and, by far, Hotel Rjukandi was the worst place we stayed. The room was downright depressing: 2 narrow twin beds with soft mattresses and paper thin walls where you can hear every sneeze from the neighboring room....and people walking by and looking in the window on their way to their rooms. Glad it was...

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were very nice. Close to the Settlement Center and the town of Borganes. Beer tasting nearby. A win-win. This is a great location for traveling the ring road or the Snaefellsnes Peninsula.

We LOVED the location, our room, the view, the breakfast, the staff, the hot tub.... once we finally found the hotel! They took an old restaurant sign, turned it over and painted Hafnarfjall on the back. When this sign is lit up from the inside at night time, you could not read the sign! Hafnarfjall, please remedy this!

Our room was simple, quiet and clean, with views of the bay. It was good for our one-night stay as we traveled from the Golden Circle sights, onward to the Peninsula. We could easily drive to Borgarnes for dinner. The free breakfast had plenty of good options and the staff was helpful. While it seems like an older hotel, the...

We stayed one night in this guesthouse. It was just by the Ring Road. The setting was like a motel where you can park your car in front of your room. The rooms are clean and basic. In the lobby, you can find the only TV for all the guests. The dinning room is also in the lobby area. They...

Unused to Icelandic accomodation, we were a bit surprised by this hotel but found that we were treated well by management - given a large top floor room for the three of us. Views were good from the balcony, but inside was a bit haphazard. They must be renovating the hotel room-by-room as vacancies allow. Our conclusion was: "at least...

This was a reasonably priced worn and dated motel. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet so it was acceptable for one night. The breakfast was better than expected but below the other breakfasts on our trip.

This hotel is just outside of Borgarnes, right after the causeway crosses the river, so easy to find. We opted for a room with private bath, but there are rooms with shared facilities as well. Although our room faced the mountains and road, we didn't hear any road noise, just the occasional crunch of tires on gravel as guests arrived...

Wow! We had a wonderful, wonderful night there. Everything was sooooo nice that I do not actually know what to say. This place is absolutely not to be missed in any case. We had a very early morning flight from Switzerland. Had lunch in Reykjavik and a hop on hop off bus tour (I'll talk about that later). And then...

Excellent for more or less tired travelers who needs a place to charge their batteries up with a good night sleep. We had last room for the day and price was cheap vs average cost for night in iceland. Beautiful building, shared bathroom was easy to use and private room was nice. Breakfast was good also. Its a bit far...
