I seriously cannot say enough great things about Borgarnes B&B, and Bertha and Jay, our hosts. We were a large family group (11 people) ranging in age from 4 years to 75, and everyone loved it! All of the rooms were comfortably sized, beds super-comfy, and nice views out the windows. The main living/dining room has a spectacular view overlooking...

What a great find! Location right in the small town, but on the water. The couple is an Icelandic/American mix, therefore great to talk to about the differences. The b and b was new and clean and comfortable. We walked along the water three doors down and ate a wonderful dinner outside with an ocean view Fun talking to waiter...

Travelling as a group of 9, this was an ideal place to spend the night. Finding it was easy, the rooms were more than spacious and comfortable, the beds and linens super comfy, and the breakfast was wonderful! We only stayed one night but had time in the morning to explore around the back yard and the trails along the...

We used Borgarnes(1 hour on the bus, north of Reykjavik) as a base for separate excursions to Holmavic (2 hours further north, by bus), and for Stykkisholmur and Reykholt by local hire car - more practical than sparse bus services in low season May! Borgarnes itself is an attractive town, with three eateries and a Settlement Centre and Museum close...

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and would agree it was one of our favourite places on our 6 week trip around Europe. We were welcomed with warmth as soon as we arrived and made felt at home straight away. The home was clean, had lovely character but with modern touches. The dining and living area overlooks...

I cannot say enough positive things about Borgarnes B&B. This warm, wonderful, high quality B&B was a literal port in a storm on a recent trip to Iceland. The hosts are most welcoming, the breakfast is off the charts delicious (Bertha bakes fresh breads every morning), the beds super comfortable, and the view is stunning. We sat in the bay...

After traveling around Iceland for a while, camping and staying in hostels, I decided to treat myself to a bed and breakfast. I loved this place so much I stayed for two nights and still keep up with them on Facebook. It's well worth the little bit of money it costs, and the town is just so serene and cute!...

Stayed here while zipping through, the owner is extremely sweet and helpful. The property itself is really amazing the place is a mix with super modern facilities and old Icelandic character. A great breakfast spread and plenty to fill up on. The property has great views too and I wish we had stayed for longer. My partner and I will...

We had a nice 1 night stay here. The B&B was in a beautiful position, very tastefully decorated and well maintained. We shared the bathroom with other guests which worked fine only bumped into one of them at prime tooth brushing time after breakfast. Breakfast was lovely with freshly cooked pancakes and bread, there was a great selection of breakfast...

We booked in April 2015 for our stay in September 2015, via Booking.com, arrived at 1.30 pm to check in, only to be told there was no room for us due to overbooking. The owner arranged for us to stay at a local hotel instead, which fortunately had rooms available. The owner said she had recently overbooked 5 other people....

Hello Susan, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience. As a business and leisure traveler for well over 30 years, I agree with you that there is no more frustrating situation than thinking you have a room booked, only to discover upon arrival that you do not actually have a room waiting for you. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Founded in February 2008, famous for the hostess's breakfast buffet, Borgarnes Bed & Breakfast is a favorite spot for people from all over the world who want to relax for shorter or longer periods in a quiet and relaxing ambiance and at the same time have the opportunity to enjoy a big part of Iceland. We are located in the heart of Borgarnes, in Englendingavik creek, the protected historical center of town, with an outstanding view over the mysterious Borgarfjordur fjord. Only a walking distance from the sea, the Icelandic Settlement Center, restaurants and the playground Bjossarolo this Borgarnes's renowned Guesthouse is in a house that was built for the rich people of Borgarnes approximately 70 years ago. Even though it is popular as an accommodation for families, couples and individuals, with its 8 bedrooms, big kitchen and dining rooms it is a good idea for little groups to rent the whole house for one or more nights to enjoy a time of their own. As such the house has accommodated recreation week-ends, birthday parties, confirmation celebrations, just to give some examples. From Borgarnes you have a variety of shorter and longer hikings and you can do day tours on Borgarfjordur region, Dalir region, Snaefellsnes peninsula, Vatnsnes peninsula in the north, the Golden circle of the South coast and even go for the highland where you can have a taste of Iceland's second largest glacier. The staff is more than willing to help you organize your own ideas of a relaxing or an adventurous day before you head off in the morning. ... more   less
