We spent 2 nights on the island with our 3 small children. We stayed in the suite which was ideally laid out for the family, nice decor and amenities (free wifi), nice cot with mattress for baby, and large enough for a short trip. The only thing to know is that there is no air conditioning in the room, which is not a problem if you can leave your windows open, but the suite is literally above the restaurant, which means you cannot sleep until the last customer (or staff...) have left the terrace. This was a real shame as the rest of the hotel is very good: Location, decor and staff. The crowds are by no means loud on the island, it's just that the room is badly located for a restful night...(you have breakfast on terrace as well!) Just something to know, otherwise, wonderful trip on the island.

Our first night at the Napoleon was excellent. The restaurant is superb, our bed was comfortable and the shower, fantastic. Our second night was not so good. The restaurant was still superb but the smell outside our room was awful. It was like someone had placed a giant vat of effluent outside our window, allowing the breeze to waft it right up our noses. This was room 116 so you might want to be careful. It was also facing the courtyard whereas another of our party (on the street side) didn't smell a thing.
My biggest complaint is the ridiculously loud rave that went on till the early hours of the morning. I know this has nothing to do with the hotel but the island is very small and when you're there for a restful break, they could warn you about the awful techno thumping that will destroy your brain.
