The hostel is quite hard to find as there is only a small sign on the door. However, it was clean, well maintained and situated in a good location. The staff were really nice and friendly. We had free pancakes an coffee for breakfast!! The only complaint is that the person sharing the room snored but that it out of... More

…you won't mind. He and the rest of the crew at Base Camp Anchorage are so great you'll happily pay the price for not putting your return date on your drink. The place lives up to its name; I stayed three separate occasions in the 12 days I was in Alaska. I was flying in late, but they emailed me... More

So, having backpacked around the United States a lot, I was not expecting too much from this hostel. Most hostels in the US are very different from those i have visited in other countries (i.e. not as social, with more locals and less travellers living in them). Imagine my surprise when i walked into Basecamp and was immediately greeted with... More

Stayed at Base Camp Anchorage for a few days this summer while on a solo trip in Alaska. Walking in, I immediately felt at home; the staff is super friendly, and over the few days I was there, I met people from all over the world. The hostel was clean and homey, and there's a kitchen in case you want... More

This hostel is filled with positive, accommodating staff and a home-away-from-home vibe. I highly recommend this place - clean rooms, hot showers, convenient location and great atmosphere! I will definitely book here again on my next trip to Alaska!

Sweet and friendly staff. I arrived at 2:30 in the morning and although there was some confusion around late night checkin, they recieved me with a smiling face. The slept in the female dorm room and sadly as female dorm room goes i kept waking up and waking up other people as well. Which is unavoidable in hostels. In the... More

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent place for travellers or people new to Anchorage who want to make friends. Not nearly clean enough (e.g., bathrooms) or quiet enough (e.g., noise from guests and staff socializing until 12:30am audible with doors closed and earplugs).

I had heard a lot of things about hostels that made me pretty weary but this place was clean and super friendly and so chill with travelers from all over the world. It was 3 floors with a full bathroom on each floor so you didnt have to wait to use one. The place felt very communal and everyone was... More

Really friendly community feel, very clean, most comfortable beds I've ever come across in any hostel! Nice small dorms, quiet at night, very convenient location just a couple of minutes walk from the bus stop. The free breakfast is basic but nice - instant oatmeal and pancake mix with tea and coffee. Free wifi was available, just a little bit... More
