I stumbled on the TA review page for Arctic Adventure and figured I should offer my two cents here. I stayed there for a month recently after doing research work for the University (in between projects) and found the owner to be very upfront and accommodating. If my memory serves me right the same fellow who complained about bugs in...

I've stayed in many hostels while traveling and this is by far the best one yet. I stayed here for just over a week and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The owner truly cares about the building (everything was so clean!) and the people staying there, and even takes some time out of his busy day to...

Bed bugs everywhere. Really people how can good reviews be left. This guy doesn't give two craps. Took 4 days to heat the room you put me in with bed bugs. Never stay 209. Guy next door has bugs too. Just doesn't want to report them n get kicked out too.

The reviewer is correct we did have a room that had bed bugs, however he is misleading in his statement that "no one gave an eff". I was out of the state at the time due to a death in my family and as soon as my friend who was watching the place notified me, which was with in 5...

Clean hostel in good location close to bus routes to down town and a grocery store 5 minute walk away. Great kitchen with free tea, coffee, and juice and lots more. Friendly manager and free wifi. A great value place to stay.

We stayed here in September 2013 and October 2013 and it was the best hostel we have stayed in. Joe was very friendly and super helpful, he directed us to local restaurants, let us borrow camping equipment and propane, suggested where to camp and let us use the phone. The rooms are clean and comfortable, as are the bathrooms. The...

During a recent trip, I needed two layover trips. The first was arriving late at the Anchorage Airport. Although we came in late (after 1:00 am), Joe was very understanding. The Hostel is clean and basic. In expensive Alaska, it is affordable. We had a private room for $56 compared to hotel rooms of triple that price. Our room was...

run by friendly owner operators this place is super spotless clean. common areas are large and light with a great big kitchen space. private rooms have a very comfy firm double mattress and there is enough shared bathrooms that you usually dont have to queue. the hotel is about 25 minutes walk south of town halfway to the airport in...

After spending a few days in new York we travelled to anchorage arrived in late and stayed in Arctic adventure. The staff were friendly. The room was clean as was the kitchen and bathroom. Its was a very quiet hostel (after new York that was very welcome!!) There did seem to be a lot of rules around the place (I...

I went to Anchorage and I wanted a place to rest and sleep while I was in the city. I find this place really good considering that I was expecting to be in a good place, clean, safe and with affordable prices. The hostel is located midtown and you have a walmart 10 min away...so is very convenient. Tip: If...

I've stayed in a lot of hostels, and generally I do not have high expectations. I'm very willing to overlook minor inconveniences, but what I experienced at this place was not minor. First of all, the people who run the place (a couple) are extremely rude. They are not the kind of people you want running a hostel. They make...

First and foremost, we (the owner and I) apologize if we came off unhappy during your first stay- previous to the night you address here. It is never our intention to give off a negative impression, and we do want our guests to feel comfortable and welcome. In regards to our closing time, it is true that on nights that...

“We had two stays there, both on the top floor. Both rooms were quiet and right across the hall from the bathroom/shower. However, being on the top floor also meant the rooms got a bit warm in the evening! About the only downside I can think of to the Midnight Sun!”

“You will need to get a taxi from Anchorage airport, approximately $15. Check out the huge Barnes and Noble bookstore nearby. Outback Steakhouse is a couple of minutes walk and worth a meal.”
