I first stayed at AAH in October 2016 and was amazingly surprised. The staff was pleasant, even helping to accommodate my needs to the best of their abilities. The owner, Jay, was quite pleasant and helpful, even offering house shoes since there are no shoes allowed in the building. The fact that they have two members of staff who live...

I have been Anchorage twice. In the first time, my experience was OK since the location and price were good. So I still chose it in my second time. However, my flight was delayed so I was late in the evening. I called them immediately and they said OK to come. When we arrived and rang the bell, the front...

When we booked the owners didn't let us know that the place was under renovation. It was quite noisy during the day with them using nail guns and drop saws. They did try to be helpful, and told us they'd leave a phone out to book a cab early in the morning but when we woke up, they had forgotten...

Private room on top floor. Comfortable bed, clean bathrooms, halls and big kitchen. Basic breakfast included. Toast, cereal etc. Good central location. For the price, it's a good basic stay. No frills, quiet nights. All ages represented.

Lovely hostel. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom was very clean. Owners are very friendly and helpful. It's a 5 minutes cab ride ($11 approx) to the train station and 10 minutes ($15) to the airport. Very good value for money and would definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our time in the Arctic Adventure Hostel and returned several during our 7 weeks trip through Alaska. The basic room was clean as was the shared bathroom and the large kitchen. For that price in Alaska, we cannot complain about anything!

A quick rundown - Location is mid town which was about a 45 minute walk to downtown. Was a little away of the action for me. Good base though if it's just a quick set up and get supplies then leave. Wal mart is 5 minutes around the corner so that's handy. The hostel was clean and tidy. It has...

I stayed for 2 weeks or so and it was the best time in Anchorage. I was is a shared room. It was very clean and nice. Had a few different roommates which was awesome, because everybody tells you a different story about them. It makes your stay even better. The manservant was the nicest guy. If you have the...

We have stayed here 4 or 5 times before, only over night before driving to our final destination in Homer, Alaska. One couple & one single male. Had a very late arrival flight & after renting our car & getting lost, it was 2:30 am when we got to the hostel. True to his word, the new owner was waiting...

Agree to most of the reviews. It's just a place to sleep. Stayed there for the first two nights and the last night in Alaska. A good stop to get something you need for your next destination. (Laundry, banking or shopping.) This place was sold to a Korean family. The owner is pretty quiet and still work on the dorm....

“We had two stays there, both on the top floor. Both rooms were quiet and right across the hall from the bathroom/shower. However, being on the top floor also meant the rooms got a bit warm in the evening! About the only downside I can think of to the Midnight Sun!”

“You will need to get a taxi from Anchorage airport, approximately $15. Check out the huge Barnes and Noble bookstore nearby. Outback Steakhouse is a couple of minutes walk and worth a meal.”
