Hotwire was misleading, but it all worked out. I stayed here two separate times during my trip in Alaska. The second night I was given a room that had a shared bathroom. The upstairs of the Inn (at least the room I had) was more of a hostel feel. When I expressed my confusion about the hotwire purchase, the gentleman...

Qupqugiaq refers to a magical polar bear, which is the sort of charm this place would have if it was well managed. The style is quirky and lots of individual elements are nice: our room had a very expensive chair but the bathroom door didn't close. They planted new flowers but never washed our towels. There were lots of cute...

Hot Wire lead us to believe that this was a chain style mid town hotel. It is not! I was a little nervous about staying there after I started reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. But the room as paid for and we only planned to stay a few short hours before our flight. I asked for an got a room...

Even though the travel sites list this hotel as 2-star, it is a 1-star...at best. The only reason we stayed here was because of a Hotwire "Hot Deals" thing, where we didn't see the name of the hotel until we payed for it. This place is furnished with furniture that was obviously bought from thrift stores -- at least the...

Let me start here: THIS PLACE HAS BED BUGS. If you love being bitten by bed bugs, then this is the place for you. The last night of my four night stay at the Qupqugiaq, I was moved to a different room than I had previously been in. I slept in shorts and a t-shirt. When I woke up, the...

We would never stay here again - although some of the staff were helpful, the female manager was extremely rude. The rooms, bathrooms and kitchen were all dirty and too small to service the number of guests. The rooms were hot but windows could not be opened due to the traffic noise outside. Very poor value and not somewhere I'd...

We booked our room with private bath and their 'nicer' room. Check in and they have us a room without private bath, moved us after acting disgruntled that we complained and they were 'booked' .. Come morning realize no towels. For $100 in July in Anchorage I didn't expect much but screwing up reservation, rooms with no towels. Other guests...

My husband and I needed a place to sleep for a few hours since our flight came in around midnight, and we needed to be in Whittier by 10. We went with a cheap room since we didn't need much except to lay our heads down for a while--big mistake. When we arrived, we checked in and went to our...

We stayed two nights: before catching the train to Seward and upon our return before catching the train to Fairbanks. We're adventurous travelers and made reservations despite the mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, in part because we didn't look for lodging in Anchorage far enough in advance and there was nothing available at a reasonable price. The first room we...

We are completing work on some of the rooms, after a remodel that has created some of the most interesting, beautiful and creative rooms you will find anywhere in any hotel. True, the ceiling of the bathroom that you complained about is not finished, and the router is hanging from the ceiling - but the shower is a magnificent four...

I tried to catch a break on the price gouging that happens all over ANC once the cruise season begins. Carpets are nasty, exterior and interior structures are worn out. It also does not feel safe and not in a good neighborhood - homeless in adjacent parking lot. I don't know how it stays in business - everything is old...

Sorry about your experience. I would like to respond to certain factual errors in your review. We anre just completing a year long remodel in which we added new rooms, corridors, lobby and much more. So it is surprising that you said that "everything is old." We also received and installed 65 pieces of classic modern furniture. Many other pieces...
