For the prices they charge in Anchorage at other hotels during summer tourist season, the Guesthouse Inn and Suites was reasonable and walking distance to downtown. It is a very basic hotel that offers a complimentary breakfast at the Sizzling Cafe across the street. We arrived at 1:30pm and check in was not till later in the afternoon. They have...

The room stinks like cat pee room 315, after complaining they gave us room spray! And a promise to relocate tomorrow as they are fully booked. Initial room key wouldn't work, went down had re- initialised still wouldn't work, luckily the cleaner came to the rescue and let us in. Oh should add that they let us on an hour...

This couldn't be more centrally located in downtown Anchorage right along 5th Avenue and a 5 min walk from tourist sites and the city Mall. The 'house' restaurant - the Sizzlin Cafe - is immediately across the road and serves excellent breakfasts and snacks. Significantly cheaper than Sheraton or The Captain Cook, the rooms here are still massive and well...

Clean room, friendly service and..great price. I was traveling through Anchorage on a fishing trip and stayed here coming and going. It is just a few minutes from the airport and was very convenient. There is plenty of free parking and they are located within walking distance of restaurants. They have an arrangement with the cafe across the street and...

I stayed at this place 2 times – once upon arriving in ANC and then right before I had to fly out. The house is great –it’s a real house in a nice residential neighborhood. After traveling around the western US and dealing with a lot of budget-saving hostels, this one rocked on the scale of “feel like coming home.”...

I live near Kenai so need to fly in and out of Anchorage a few times a year. Whenever I'm traveling solo I stay at the Anchorage Guest House. I learned about it from a referral from the Girdwood hostel. It is the least expensive place as well as one of the most comfortable in Anchorage. It feels like home....

I'm afraid to say that after my excellent first stay 10 years ago, my second stay was not that nice. I stayed in both the private and hostel rooms and none were clean and general maintenance seemed to be lacking. The bathrooms were not at all clean and I had difficulty feeling clean after showering, trying not to touch any...

As a solo traveler, I found the Anchorage Guest House extremely accommodating. Andy was very helpful with helping me to plan my adventures in Alaska. I stayed there the first night after I flew in and ended up returning for 2 more nights while passing through Anchorage again. Even though Andy was on a vacation of his own at this...
