My wife and I have been repeat visitors to Seattle over the last few years and have decided to move to the area. We chose the Chittenden House as our base of operations during our home search and spent about a month this time. We arranged to stay in the Evergreen Room, which is actually a wonderful little apartment with...

I'm so thankful for you guys! Thanks for taking the time to tell us about your time here. It makes my day to hear our place has become a home away from home, and I hope you know that you're welcome anytime! All the best, Marcia, Owner

A musty odor permeating the house and the presence of a large, furry dog (even though the website says no pets) triggered allergies and made for an unpleasant stay. In addition, access to rooms is via a steep staircase, the place is overly decorated so no place to put your stuff and the large picture window in the bathroom has...

I'm sorry to hear you didn't love your stay with us this time. We're always happy to make accommodations for you when you stay with us, and would have been happy to keep our house dog elsewhere had you brought your allergies to our attention. Still, I'm sorry you weren't happy with the layout and decorations of the room. We...

What a wonderful house built into the side of the hill. Spacious and well appointed with an incredible decorative flair (I believe she decorates for all the holidays) with a very nice post-Victorian charm. I stayed in the Jungle Room which was very comfortable, had a great bed, a generous closet and is upstairs. The bathroom (shared with the Castle...

We loved our stay at the Chittenden House. Lovely, cozy, comfortable place to unwind. Very quiet, we slept great. We had the entire basement apartment that opens out onto a lovely garden. Breakfast was amazing, peach cordial with local peaches, harvest frittata with home grown zucchini, fresh scones, lots of coffee and juice. There is a lovely trail to Lincoln...

As a couple who needs 2 beds, the Suite was Perfect for us. Having more then bedrooms to enjoy our stay, you couldn't ask for any more. The breakfasts were just enough too. Marty does a great job preparing them. Emma is a sweet lady who accommodates your needs if you have any, we didn't. Mesha was a joy to...

I hesitate to write this review because we really enjoy staying here, and if word gets out how perfect and convenient our favorite room is...! Our Secret Escape is the Evergreen Suite. It is our favorite room...or should I say 2-bedroom/1 bath apartment complete with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, laundry room, private entrance off a large...

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Chittenden House while vacationing in Seattle. This was a very reasonable deal, compared to other B&Bs in the area. We loved getting to experience the culture of West Seattle. The host was very friendly and provided tour recommendations upon request. We stayed in the Jungle Room, which was interesting decor-wise, and unfortunately...

Breakfasts are great. Accomodations more than adequate. Marcia has many art pieces in the way of furniture and ornaments - which make for a homey atmosphere. We were about 6 blocks from our grandkids, so easy family connection. Easy to walk downtown West Seattle - particularly Bakery Nouveau - a top French bakery of Seattle.
