Be careful not to complain with the manager at this hotel for the bad service because she will start screaming at you and will call the police!!! What a horrible customer service. Very expensive for what it is, no cleaning room service and poor location.
We stayed at The Sound for one night pre cruise. I was a little concerned from reading some of the reviews about it not being in a good location. But as soon as we arrived ours concerns were gone. This hotel is fairly new with a boutique modern vibe. Very clean and spacious. Friendly staff, comfy bed, Keurig coffee pot with pods, big shower, refrigerator. The only thing it lacked was a microwave. That would have been nice. Went up to the rooftop and enjoyed the view of the Space Needle. Lovely area up there. Ate some nachos at the attached restaurant. Very good but pricey. The hotel did give us two complimentary drinks at the attached restaurant, that was nice. A short walk, less than 10 min (some uphill) to Pike Place market. A very short walk to CVS and about a 7 min walk to Starbucks. We took the Capital Aeroporter from airport to hotel. About a 20-30 min ride on a Saturday. $40 one way for two. We hired an Uber for our ride to Pier 91 and it was a short 10 min or so ride. $27 incl tip for that on a Sunday. I would love to stay here again when we return to Seattle. Don't hesitate to book this hotel.…
This was my wife and I second stay at the Sound hotel. I love the location which is close to the Space needle and Pike place market. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. My only complaint is that on our first visit (don’t remember the room number) the view was the building next door. On our most recent visit June 22 -24, 2022, we stayed in room 301. The only view from that room is a wall with a mural painting. I realize this is a minor complaint but I would have liked a better view during at least one of our stays. Maybe we are unlucky and I hope we not unliked.
This was by far the best hotel I have stayed in. The customer service was incredible. All of the staff (front end, doormen, cleaning, bar, restaurant and coffee shop) genuinely nice and super helpful. The view from the observation floor was cool and a great place to relax. I beautiful and accommodating hotel in a convenient location!
I travel a lot. This is one of the cleanest and nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The rooms are spacious and welcoming. But the best part…the staff. Literally everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and just plain amazing. (Extra shout out to Gustav!!!) I don’t think I will ever stay anywhere else when I am in Seattle.
We stayed at this hotel the night before catching our Alaska cruise and for two extra nights after our cruise ws finished. I can't say enough about how awesome our experience was at this hotel. The workers at the front desk are all incredible friendly and kind. The hotel is on the smaller side but very fresh, modern and most importantly, clean. In fact, one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at in a long time. The rooms are large, the bathrooms are huge with beautiful tiled enormous showers. Everything is pergo and the beds are comfortable. The location is perfect, you can walk to so much. We walked to all the shopping, Pike market, Space Needle, etc. It's a safe area to walk around for sure. The cruise port is a 10 min. uber ride. We also enjoyed the 7th floor rooftop fire pit and views of the city, though we wished it stayed open past 10. The little restaurant had good food but the service was very, very slow. All in all, we would love to come back and stay again. …
Excellent Hotel in Seattle Very comfortable an near the main attractions in the city The employees are very friendly and assisted us with all needs The rooms are very good and clean In the 7th floor they have a place to stay with a very good view. Good place to drink a beer
We stayed at the Sound Hotel the night before getting on a cruise ship. The hotel is conveniently located to restaurants, coffee shops, Pike Place Market, shopping and Pier 66. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It was all very updated and attractive. There is a floor that has meeting and gathering areas as well as a outside terrace that overlooks the Seattle Space Needle. We stayed here with HHonors points so the stay was free and I cannot think of a better place to stay in Belltown. There is a restaurant and coffee shop onsite. We had breakfast there and were credited since we are HHonors members. I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. We loved it.
Stayed here 1 night prior to a Alaskan cruise. Uber to pier 91 was around 10-15 minute ride. Staff were very friendly and always willing to answer any questions we may have. We arrived before checkin, unfortunately our room was not available but they were able to move things around and get us into a room which was awesome. Property felt modern and clean/sanitized Rooms provided Keurig coffee. Location is within walking distance of major attractions. Walked to the Seattle Center which was around 10 minutes. Walked to Pike Market which was around 5-10 minutes. We felt very safe staying here. If we are ever in the area again we would definately choose this hotel.
I stayed at The Sound using HHonors points over Mother’s Day weekend while visiting son. Because of my Diamond status, I was upgraded to a huge suite. The check in went easily. My room was huge, with a dinette table in one corner with views to the north of the Space Needle and east over the Amazon campus. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a large closet and a coffee/refrigerator station. The bathroom was gigantic with a double sink and lovely walk in shower (in fact, my son dropped by to use it). I slept very well. We got take out from the on-site restaurant for breakfast on Mother’s Day. My Diamond status entitled me to $15/day room credit, which paid for 2/3 of the breakfast. There was a bit of a wait to order. It was ready in adequate timing, and we waited in the coffee lounge. Then we took it up to the room and enjoyed eating at the cute little table. The hotel was well situated for our needs - near son’s apartment and Top Pot; also close to the Amazon garages where my son could park as an employee. We didn’t really walk anywhere from the hotel, but based on one previous stay (during 2019 Seafair; prime location for the parade) it is walkable to restaurants and other attractions, including both both Seattle Center and Pike Place Market. There was a friendly and helpful doorman on duty, and a key card was needed to operate the elevator. So good security. The staff was friendly and polite, and I got texted each day to make sure everything was ok. Only a few minor glitches: (1)one sink stopper jammed closed but I had another sink so was ok (2) couldn’t get hair dryer to work but I had my own (3) restaurant ran out of cream while we were waiting for our breakfast order and (4) trying to get a boarding pass printed defeated both the front desk and my techie son. Way too complicated so I did it at the airport. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.…
