Palihotel Seattle offers a stay that's brimming with eclectic charm, earning praise from guests for its unique decor and cozy atmosphere. However, some visitors have noted that the street noise can be disruptive, and opinions on room quality are mixed, with cleanliness and charm appreciated but size and maintenance issues causing concern.
The hotel's service and amenities receive varied reviews, with the location near Pike Place Market highlighted as a plus. Despite this, many travelers question the value for the price, citing overpriced features and functional shortcomings.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
This stay at the Palihotel in Seattle was our 3rd experience with Palihotels, and it did not disappoint! First, the location was incredible, you are right in the epicenter of activity...Pike's market is right outside your doorstep along with all sorts of dining and shopping options. You're also waking distance to the ferries, which made it very easy to take a day trip to Bainbridge Island. In addition, you're a short drive or doable walk from so many other points of interest, including the Space Needle, Chihuly Gardens, Pioneer Square, etc.
As has been our experience, the rooms were so unique. We rented the bunk room for our teens and had an adjoining King room that was super comfy. This brings me to the staff Jemella and her team were incredible. When we checked in, I informed them that we had requested an adjoining room for our teens, when she saw that it was booked improperly, she made the changes necessary to meet our needs. They were all so friendly and helpful!
Two watchouts -- parking is a bit pricey (you park at a garage a few blocks away) and the restaurant is currently understaffed, so service takes a long time.
Don't let these two challenges dissuade you from staying here though, we had an amazing stay!

I chose this place for the location, walkability, and the vintage boutique feel it had online. For the time of my visit prices were low and very reasonable (prices vary greatly throughout the year at all hotels in this popular area) so I splurged and was able to reserve a king suite for a really great price and I enjoyed lounging on that massive couch each evening before/after going out. Check-in was super easy, place felt very secure especially after hours during the late night. Room was clean, well decorated and even though I had a view over the roof to other rooms, it was quiet and still felt private. The lobby lounge area was adorable, cozy and a nice spot to relax outside of the room. I did eat breakfast one morning at the attached restaraunt and the food, although fancy, was good. However I was a little disappointed that the bar wasn't open later on the nights I was there, leaving me to walk elsewhere for late night food/beverage options, however I never felt unsafe in doing so either. Location was very convenient for walking to Pikes, the waterfront, Benaroya Hall, Showbox, shopping, the light rail systems, anything downtown really and was an easy mile walk to the Space Needle area. I look forward to staying here again!

This hotel has a cute historic travelers vibe with retro appliances like a water heater and fridge that looks like they were from the 1950s. The dark tones and blackout currents were great for sleeping in. This hotel is located less than a block away from Pike Place Market which was the main attraction for us; this means it is also close to a lot of other great touristy spots. Be warned that the market is a high trafficked touristy site so there are a lot of local people playing music on the streets and we also encountered a protest in the middle of the day which could be heard right through our windows, so if you want a quiet more outdoorsy feel, I recommend checking out more local residence areas. We decided to get a rental car which allowed us more flexibility in seeing further out of the city sites also; the hotel is contracted with a nearby garage that offers full day parking for $33/day (in/out as much as you want) which was a 2 minute walk down the block. We were glad we paid for it because parking was pretty packed on the streets. Housekeeping were very respectful and even on late days leaving we still came back to clean towels and room when we requested. Overall, is a great stay vibes well with downtown city feel. I would recommend to others for an experience, but I think we will try other places near nature or outdoorsy to get other vibes of Seattle next time.

I booked based on having a room with a view but ended up with a view of the parking lot and the soundscapes of the homeless rummaging around in the alleyway below. Receptionist said the view wasn't guaranteed but that the view "was only a block away."
The room itself was cute and modern.
The street noise startled me many times throughout the night. (Had I not had an alarm I had to wake to I would have used the ear plugs they supplied).
Electrical outlets didn't work (my phone did not charge at all despite trying the outlets near the bed and couch).
The cool showerhead spritzed and trickled with no real water pressure.
I thought booking the room directly from the site would allow better treatment/amenities but I guess that's not the case anymore.
The location can't be beat. It really is the perfect location. Just wish the simple things worked and that transparency was a thing.

Positive- the rooms and locations are super cool!! I was right next to the market and if I was vacationing the location is perfect. Lots of tv stations, comfortable pillows, good wifi connectivity. Retro looks for the traveler. Multiple restaurants to choose from that are within walking distance. I travel alone and it felt very safe.
Negative- front desk customer service. There was at least 4 people in line and the only person who could do check ins was on a very lengthy phone call. There was a guy who came out and apologized and said he could not operate the 2nd computer.
The bed has dips in the mattress. Then I hear EVERYTHING in this building. So housekeeping started vacuuming upstairs and woke me up prior to my alarm clock. They also charge for some of the things that would be free at other hotels. There needs to be more lighting.
Summary, $130 is a fair price. I wouldn't go much higher unless they fix a few things.

This was a quick last minute trip that I took with my son. From the moment we began the check in process, we were welcomed with warmth by Jamella, the front desk supervisor! Our flight arrived much earlier than the check in time, and Jamella allowed us to store our luggage in a safe place so we could begin seeing the city. She even called us shortly after our leaving to begin sight seeing to let us know that there was a room available for us.
The room was lovely decorated, clean, comfortable, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was very relaxing and the bath robes were a nice touch, but we were too busy out and about and forgot to use them. The hotel is a short block from the Pike Place Market, and some might say it's right across the street from the market. The location is excellent! It's about a one minute walk to Pike Place Market, and about a twenty minute walk to the Space Needle, Chihuly Glass and Garden and MoPop. The hotel is conveniently located to the light rail - about a five minute walk. We took the light rail from the airport to the hotel. It was an easy and inexpensive way to get from the airport to the hotel.
Khalin was another person at the front desk, and he who gave us excellent suggestions about restaurants and places of interest not on the tourists' radar along with specific directions about how to get to the locations. It was always a pleasure to come back to the hotel to chat with Khalin!
Alfred, the supervisor of housekeeping, was wonderful and hardworking as there was a staffing shortage within housekeeping, but he worked hard to assist with cleaning rooms, so the staffing shortage was not apparent to the guests.
I loved the decor of the hotel! There is one room that is just off from the lobby that is the perfect place to relax - very comfy chairs to sit back and have a quiet moment. Our stay was so short, and we stayed on the move, so we never ate at the hotel. When in Seattle, we will definitely stay in Palihotel again. As nice as the hotel was, the best part was the wonderful staff! It was like catching up with friends each night when we returned to the hotel.

Due to staffing shortages there wasn't a room ready for us when we arrived. I understand how difficult it is to find employees in the current work environment, so I am reluctant to hold this against the hotel. Just be aware that it may be early evening before rooms are available. By the time rooms start to become available, the lobby was full of families and couples waiting for rooms.
Our room had a number of charming retro items, a very comfortable bed, a glass walk-in shower, and a fantastic view of Puget Sound and the Pike Place Market area. The room was well equipped. The design and decorative nature of the rom was really nice. On the other hand,,,there were some personal items of the previous guest(s) left in the bathroom. I am guessing they were missed in the hurry to get the room prepped for us. The lighting at the bathroom mirror wasn't bright enough to allow for make-up application.
Probably the worst part of our stay was the noise overnight. While the location close to the market is great during the day, it is not so great overnight. We had a third floor corner room. With the windows closed we could still hear the busker across the street until about 11:00 pm. There were very loud police/ambulance sirens at 3:00 and 5:00 am. There was miscellaneous yelling/fighting throughout the night. It is an older, very charming building that has next to no noise dampening qualities.
There is no parking for this hotel. Valet parking is not available. The closest ramp is three blocks away and charges $33 per night. This is common in larger cities, but I always feel that it is important to know if you have to park a vehicle. Also, the area you have to walk after parking in the ramp is not the safest area. Women traveling alone would probably be uncomfortable walking that area at night.

PROS: Unique , quaint hotel minutes away from Pike Place Market and within walking distance to the Starbucks Roastery and many really sweet and fun shops !
CONS: Electrical plugs would not work unless the overhead light was on! So charging our phones was a bit of a nightmare. Also the functionality of plugs was bizarre! We had to plug in the kettle on the ground ... Water pressure in the shower was non existent. (Like no one should have to wash their hair for that long ) The room was set at a temperature we couldn’t change and it was too uncomfortably warm (75). It was noisy, and I mean like garbage trucks, a possibly welding machine and lord knows what else starting at 5:30am. This was not normal town noise but extreme “what the heck is going on !?” noise. House keeping also came twice . Once to replace just our coffee , and then hours later to clean.
The mini bar was fully stocked but over priced. Mini cans of coke { 7.5 ounces } were a shocking $5 each! And {12 ounce } cans of wine were $16! Snacks were also incredibly overpriced with chocolate pars and chips being $5 each.
The most frustrating part was that no one asked us how are stay was so I was unable to give feedback in person.

I was recently booked here through Be The Match so I could donate at the Seattle location.
I read other reviews regarding the front desk staff and thought there was no way the experiences I read about could be that bad. However, my wife and I received incredibly unenthusiastic or friendly service at the front desk in all but one instance. When checking in we were offered no suggestions when we asked about where we could find food, we checked in around 7PM and their in-house restaurant closes fairly early. During the second day while I was at Be The Match our room key expired as the stay had to be extended by one day to deal with an extended donation. I'm sure my wife will be leaving an accurate review about how unpleasant that experience was. At the same time, the person at the desk said that Be The Match had left a gift basket that we were supposed to receive when we initially arrived, going to get the gift basket seemed to greatly irritate the girl at the desk. My wife was able to get the room key issue resolved after a small ordeal. "Inhospitable" is how I would describe the general front desk staff. When we were checking out, however, we interacted with someone who appeared to be a proper manager and the service at the desk was wonderful.
Pro tip: If you have to stay here, try to be sure to book at room that isn't on the east side of the building. The east side is against a small alley and you will hear every single truck that needs to go through it for garbage collection/other businesses. I would have rated sleep quality higher, but a LOT of trucks drive through that alley. I'm sure my value rating would be higher if we weren't situated on the 2nd floor on the alley side of the building, but your sleep will be disturbed multiple times throughout the night.
Pro tip II: Von's or Japonessa Sushi Cocina were the two places we ate during the trip, they're within easy walking distance and delicious.
The location itself is prime, just across the street from Pike Place Market. The beds and pillows were wonderful.

Perfect location for a visit to Seattle. Everything is within walking distance. Down side is the hotel does not have parking so you either pay an arm and a leg for valet or you park at a parkade around the corner and pray your car is still there when you get back! The room was very, very small without any surfaces to put stuff down on other than the window ledge. The bed was pushed right against the wall and it was not comfortable at all.
