I've met great people and had a great time. If I'd have stayed in a fancy hotel if have been alone. Ate a great spaghetti supper with some great new friends followed by a night on the town with 20-30 other tortoises. I volunteered to help do dishes. Even more chances to meet new friends.

For an affordable, primary location to enjoy the inner core of all Seattle offers, I would recommend the Green Tortoise. I had several students, including two from France. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The amenities included a breakfast an occasional dinner, clean bedding and great service. It was a safe environment, with a summer camp feel and decor.... When you're travelling on a budget or have a large group of people to bring along, the Green Tortoise is a wonderful place to stay. I stayed from July 17th to the 22nd with a group of 7 people, and we bought out a room for 8 people. Checking in that many people took a bit of time, but the... More

I spent 4 nights there in June. It is located right next to Pike Place Market and is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful (I asked for a second pillow and it wasn't any trouble for them!). The rooms are kept clean, and the bathrooms are washed everyday. Of course, the water... More

Pros - Located in the center of the city. staff is nice and there's free breakfast and dinner 3 times a week. Also there's a discounted parking garage nearby. On the other hand - the rooms were _very_ small, shower stream pressure is extremely low - and the common area was too crowded. I didn't enjoy the atmosphere.

We had 2 nights here in July and loved it. We have stayed at a number of backpackers/hostels over the past 2 years and I think this one takes the cake. The price was really well set and the location was amazing. Literally just across the road from the Pike Place Market. My wife and I as well as a... More

i wished I could have stayed at this hostel longer - 2 nights was not enough to make use of their awesome activities/facilities. Here's my very positive experience - stayed in a private room for 3 people - clean rooms and bathrooms - friendly staff - FREE AMAZING breakfast - cook your own eggs and pancakes - great kitchen facilities... This place is the best. By far the nicest hostel I've ever stayed in. I stayed for seven nights in total over a two week period all in shared rooms. All the people here are great. Full of travellers of all ages. It has a very social atmosphere and the staff is awesome. There is free breakfast every morning and... More

My first hostel stay. The beautiful tanned woman with sandyandy blonde hair checked me in. Besides her beauty, she was kind and informative. She showed me how to work the keys and I chickened out on asking her on a date. I got locked out of my room the first night; the afro-clad gentlemen that works at nights let me... More
