Had this motel booked for a week in August but cancelled and rebooked at a neighboring 3 star hotel simply due to the underwhelming reviews. Decided to give Marco Polo Motel a shot a couple of nights ago and I must say, I was very pleased. Sure, the rooms are in near original condition, but if you're simply looking for a clean, comfortable and safe play to stay, save yourself $200 a night (easily) and stay here! Things I really liked: my second floor room was very clean and despite being a tad bit on the smaller side, it had absolutely everything that I needed. Property offers ample complimentary parking which is essentially unheard of in the area. Only a 3 minute interaction (albeit positive) with the front desk agent however everything was straightforward, the way it should always be. I noticed that coin laundry was available and there were vending machines on site as well. Accessible location right on the cusp a residential neighborhood literally 3 min drive from downtown Seattle, South Lake Union and more. If you don't have a car, this probably isn't the place for you as there didn't appear to be any stores/restaurants within the immediate vicinity. A very positive stay indeed and I would encourage others to give it a shot too!

I ran out of bottled water for my child, i realized that there were no nearby grocery stores and even restaurants around the area dont sell bottled water. I went to the reception and saw some bottled water, i explained to the chinese man there that i need for my child and that i will PAY for it, he immediately took it as if it was a scene from a movie where its the end of the world, putting it away hurriedly. I know its for him to drink while he is on duty, am not asking it to be given to me for free, i just needed 1 bottle to make formula for my boy and he told me to take the water from the pitcher being served there and he kept telling me its good quality water its ok take it! I have never seen a person like this! He wont even drink that water himself! Such a disappointment! I never thought i would cry so much for a bottle of water.!

The staff at Marco Polo helped me out recently when I unexpectedly needed a last-minute room for a couple of nights. They were so friendly and responsive, and the room was perfect for my immediate needs. Both the day manager (Jonathan) and the night manager (Laura) went above and beyond to make my stay a pleasant one under my circumstances. With staff like that, no wonder Marco Polo has been such popular budget stay in Seattle all these years! Thanks again for everything!

We stayed here just one night on Aug 16th. Staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Room 226, corner suite on upper level. This room has special meaning if you are a Nirvana /Kurt Cobain fan, as this was Kurt's requested room at the motel back in the 90's. Special thanks to Johnathan who arranged for us to have this specific room. The room itself was a good size, had double bed, pull out couch bed, microwave, table and chairs. Room also has 3 good size windows that open, we didnt need the a/c as a nice breeze blew in. Room and bathroom were very clean, bathroom had plenty of clean towels, shower ran fine. Wifi also ran fast.No issues during my stay, evening was quiet, no problems whatsoever with our stay.

Despite the safety concerns about the area, this motel is extremely comfortable. I almost wish I could live here. 10/10. There was, however, some sketch a** people around. Don’t care, I slept the best I have in years, lol!

We stayed at this motel in July 2019. It was completely unclean. There was a loaf of bread in the dresser along with a dirty fork and other garbage. There was mold and fuzzy stuff on the toilet, the shower was dirty and something red and sticky in the drawers. We were not going to be in the room except at night, which still made us cringe not knowing what might be on the bedding, and after our first night they wanted to relocate us to another room as we were leaving for appointment. Were actually irked that we did not have time to pack up our stuff and move for them - they had a booking problem. In addition, their “breakfast” was non-existent and the coffee was either out or cold. Will never stay there again!

Nice little place. We checked in really late because of circumstances and the night guy was extremely friendly and welcoming. The building is a bit older and it shows but it was comfortable enough. The location is fantastic, only minutes from the zoo and some great restaurants. The only real complaint we had was that there was a lot of hair in the bed linens, which is kind of gross but they have been washed so I guess they're sterilized hairs? Overall quite happy though.

Motel is dated but that does not bother me. Clean room and comfy bed is all it takes to make me happy, not here, when we pulled the sheets down to go to bed, we found long hairs between the sheets and they were not ours, too late to do anything, so we slept in our clothes. After that the bed did not matter but it was not comfy.

I stayed here as a last minute emergency booking knowing it wasn’t the greatest... but after a very long disastrous two day car ride all me and my family were desperate to get out of the car and just relax for a bit. When we walked in, I immediately asked my fiancé to run to the store for cleaning products. I spent a good 45 min at least scrubbing down every inch of the room accessible to my daughter. I had to lysol the bed linens and still refused to even sit on the rock hard mattress without putting down a towel or blanket first. Luckily I had a few blankets in the car which we used to cover the comforters and to lay on and another on top to cover each of us. We also had to bring in pillows to replace the insanely thin ones provided. Every inch of the place was filthy. As much as I love cobwebs, dust and grease film furniture, ripped linens and burn hole covered curtains this place just wasn’t my cup of tea. Although the attempt to cover up any unwelcoming smells using dollar store cologne was slightly appreciated. And... to top off our wonderful night of watching static ridden reception on a tv with exposed wiring in plain sight, I was disturbed by housekeeping barging into our room regardless of the fact that checkout was two and a half hours later and my fiancé told the woman that we were not leaving for at least another half hour and that I was inside still to ensure she did not enter the room. (In the event my daughter and I were changing etc....) Never Again!

Check in was quick and easy and the host was very friendly. Asked for late check out and it was no problem and no charge. Great little room at a great rate for location to show in the city. Definitely recommend to those who don’t want to spend a lot.
