Hotel Sorrento garners praise for its comfortable and spacious rooms steeped in historic allure, although some visitors suggest the rooms could benefit from contemporary enhancements. The amenities, including Nespresso machines and the ambiance of the Fireplace room, are often highlighted as highlights, while the staff's warm and attentive service further enriches the guest experience, despite occasional service inconsistencies. The hotel's prime location and cleanliness are consistently commended, and while the atmosphere's historic charm captivates many, opinions on its value for money vary among guests.

This elegant hotel is so comfortable and easy to stay at. We loved that our charming room had plenty of space and a Nespresso coffee maker and wonderful bath soaps. The front desk was so helpful for all kinds of requests and, though it's very expensive to park a car in the city, the car was brought to us in a timely fashion every time. We especially loved that they always had fresh coffee, water, a bowl of fruits and a tray of pastries out for the taking - every day! They also have a rug in the lift that was changed for each day...the day of the week updated daily!

The Hotel Sorrento is centrally located so walking to local attractions and events is easy. It is at the top of the hill so half your trips will be uphill.
The hotel itself is a well maintained classic with dark cherry millwork all around the entrance and bars that was tastefully designed. The piano bar seemed to be always entertaining. the whisky selection was seriously good and the snacks were perfect. Brunch was divine.
My room was the small suite which was very spacious and well appointed. the bed was extremely comfortable as was the furniture.
My final note is to acknowledge that every staff member was industrious, polite and a joy to be with. I look forward to visiting them and their hotel again.

My husband had an early heart surgery appointment at Virginia Mason, with snow in the forecast we decided to stay close to the hospital. We love, love, love the Hotel Sorrento and plan to return with friends. The Hotel has a great atmosphere as though you've gone back in time to a warm and friendly world, the rooms are beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and fluffy pillows, original artwork, Nespresso pod coffee service and hot pot for tea. We had ample space in our room to enjoy the serenity of the Sorrento Hotel and visit. We loved our dinner and entertainment in the Fireplace room with beautiful mahogany wood paneling and board games galore. With the Hotel Sorrento's help we made lemonade out of lemons, my husbands heart surgery was a success and we had a great staycation at the Hotel Sorrento. We will definitely return and highly recommend Hotel Sorrento.

I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with Sorrento. I used to come here when I lived in Seattle, and I wanted to come here for holiday weekend.
I sat for 30minutes in the fireside room and not a single person asked if I needed help. Am I supposed to chase after someone to spend money?
The restaurant was “too busy” for a table, so I sat by the fire and watched two tables empty for the next two hours.
Food and service extremely disappointing. I prepaid for parking and breakfast for two, and was assured the front desk would apply my purchase. NOPE. This room on the second floor for over $350 a night isn’t worth it AT ALL.
Sorrento is known for holiday brunch and teas - as someone paying to stay here, the service was beyond despicable. I have worked years in customer service and this wouldn’t be tolerated.
Do NOT book a room here, and good luck trying to get an “elusive” spot in a lounge. Apparently this place thinks it’s Buckingham
palace.

Sorrento is fabulous. I stay there several times a year and always enjoy my stays. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. The staff are wonderful - helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I will stay there again in the future. I eat at Stella almost every visit and always have a good meal. I especially love getting onto the elevators to see the day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.) on the rug. Whoever is on overnight duty changes the rug at midnight so the day is always correct!

Lobby and reception dark and gloomy.
Room fine, comfortable. However, excessive city noise, and a lot or noisly airplane overflying on airport approach.
Location not close to other city facilities.
Reception staff, housekeeping staff, excellent. Dining room server unconvincingly oversold moderate but not exceptional food.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Hotel Sorrento. I'm sorry to hear that the historic architecture featuring crafted mahogany was not to your liking. As Seattle's oldest hotel nestled in a prime urban environment close to downtown and Capital Hill, city noise can be challenging. I'm glad to hear your interaction with our staff meets with our high standard of service to all guests. My friend and I booked this hotel for a concert. The appeal was that it had valet parking a locked garage that was only for the hotel.

It was just a one night stay. For almost $400, it seemed a little steep for what we got. We understood it was an older hotel uppon arrival.

We stayed in room 700... the light bulb was out in one lamp. The room was very dark and did not have plugs in the bathroom to plug in any hair dryer or straightener. There was not much air flow, and the windows did not stay open. The floor was uneven, and with the carpet design, it was quite the vertigo situation.

I will say we were treated by their ghost that haunts the building. When she took a photo of my friend and I while we had my phone on a tripod. The phone was off and just sitting there on the tripod, and we had our backs to the tripod with the phone in it. I did not find the photo until the next morning.

If you don't mind, an older hotel and an elevator that only has a 3 person max capacity and apparently a ghost that loves to take photos. This is truly a beautiful hotel. The staff was friendly and very accommodating and helpful.

It was a wonderful 24 hours to see one of my favorite singers!

This is a fantastic and beautiful hotel. It's very clean, the staff is welcoming, and the antique charm of the place is really fun.
My only issue is that the bed was extremely soft, with no support, and it seemed the mattress may have been older. However, the staff was wonderful and accommodated me with a trundle bed, that was much more comfortable. In their defense, I do have a low tolerance for soft beds because I have back issues. Otherwise, everything was great, and the valet service was excellent. It was a really quiet room, I barely heard the neighbors. I love the layout, as it has a separate bedroom that is quite spacious, and a living room and bar area, that is well furnished. They also provided free water bottles in the hotel, a mini fridge that actually worked, and it has nice large windows to look out at the city.
Their is an old heater that I do not believe is supposed to be operated, but I found the correct heater they put in there that is a newer plug-in heater and it worked well.
The restaurant is good, classic fair in the morning for breakfast, and a really great waitstaff. I would stay here again.

Staff were helpful and courteous. Check in and check out went smoothly. Valet and overnight parking was off the chart excellent considering your location and the fact that I didn't have to worry about where to park "Butch 2" was a huge relief!!! We ate dinner at Stella's and it was very tasty. We were unable to enjoy breakfast at the Hotel but I'm sure it didn't disappoint. Rooms were comfortable and so were the beds! Being from small town USA the city noise was concerning but only because home is so quiet.
We will be back!

Stayed at the Sorrento and was impressed by the high quality of the staff and facilities, The rooms are well appointed, extremely clean, and well prepared. The front desk staff of Dylan and Kyle are outstanding.....need anything just ask they'll get it for you. The Vallet person Rory is always willing to help with parking your car in the secure garage to assisting you with loading/unloading your luggage to and from your room. The Sorrento is easily accessible with I-5 right off the on/off ramp! Virginia Mason Hospital is 100 yards down the street. Eateries are within i/2 minutes from the Hotel in a safe location so you need not worry of problems. I WILL be staying there again It's a fantastic establish!
