We were in a king suite on the 6th floor. Only 1 of 2 room air conditioners worked. Not a deal breaker. Then the ONLY elevator broke, then broke again and again. We walked up and down 6 flights, passing people dragging suitcases and huffing and puffing…wait, that was us. We carried a wedding dress and veil up 3 flights and others made numerous trips up and down. The staff had NO sense of urgency and told us more than once they have to climb the stairs too. We heard of one person falling. This was our first and last stay at the Sorrento.

We needed to spend the night in Seattle due to appointments. The Sorrento staff could not have been more accommodating. Everyone was willing to do whatever they could to make our stay stress free. We did eat in Stella's, and while the food was fine, the gentleman who helped us and served us was very informative and helpful. Thank you Sorrento! * We did arrive and leave via Amtrak ... the fare was @$10 each way.

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel for one week in January. It was not a trip either of us wanted to take. My husband had a life threatening accident in Montana, was life flighted to Seattle for surgery. We needed a hotel in close proximity to the hospital. Upon arrival to the hotel I was discombobulated, but entire staff was not only very accommodating they were compassionate too. The room was clean and neat. The hotel has a charm of a bygone era, it was a pleasure to stay there.

The bartender that served us while attempting to get a glass of wine upon our arrival at the hotel was dismissive and unprofessional. Other staff in the hotel were on the other hand were all friendly, helpful and professional. We won’t be returning here on account of the negative attitude we received at the bar. Rooms also quite noisy.

Stayed here at the end of December to be close to the hospital after my father's surgery. Due to the snow and freezing temperatures, there was not enough staff reporting to work to open the restaurant. We were disappointed, as that was one of the reasons we chose this specific hotel, but we also understood that the extreme weather had thrown a wrench in things. We were also informed that there was an issue with the heat (from the extremely cold weather), but maintenance was working on it. They did provide us with a space heater to assist in heating the room, but the room was still on the cold side. Other than those two items, everything else was perfect. The hotel is beautiful and full of history. The woodwork in the lounge and fireplace area is breathtaking. The staff provided amazing, friendly, courteous customer service - especially the valet staff. The beds had crisp, clean, white linens with multiple pillows and were very comfortable. I also liked the high end toiletries that were provided. The location of the hotel was ideal. Walkable to many restaurants, services and the downtown area. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, and look forward to trying the restaurant when it is open on my next stay.

If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars, I would. We needed a place to stay near the VM hospital due to a family member's emergency surgery during a severe winter storm. Our suite was spacious, extremely clean and well equipped. Mask guidelines were in place so we felt very safe during Covid. The customer service at this hotel is beyond excellent. It is the staff at a good hotel that makes all the difference. From the moment we arrived for a five night stay, Trystan, Dylan and Kieran took care of our every need. Extra blankets, a space heater, microwave, directions - if we needed it, it was there within 5 minutes! Wow. The suite also has a coffee maker, iron, fridge, 2 TVs, blackout blinds, lots of lamps and outlets. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Stayed at the Sorrento and was impressed by the high quality of the staff and facilities, The rooms are well appointed, extremely clean, and well prepared. The front desk staff of Dylan and Kyle are outstanding.....need anything just ask they'll get it for you. The Vallet person Rory is always willing to help with parking your car in the secure garage to assisting you with loading/unloading your luggage to and from your room. The Sorrento is easily accessible with I-5 right off the on/off ramp! Virginia Mason Hospital is 100 yards down the street. Eateries are within i/2 minutes from the Hotel in a safe location so you need not worry of problems. I WILL be staying there again It's a fantastic establish! W. Mulroy, Major, USAF (Ret.) Yakima, WA

My wife and I spent last Friday night in your hotel. We had booked a queen suite to celebrate our anniversary. Your staff were all professional and friendly and we looked forward to a nice stay. Sadly, the room was so incredibly shabby that we felt we had made a terrible choice in booking at your hotel. Room 410 looks directly into apartments across an alley. The occupants could see right into our room. Had to keep curtains closed entire time!! The heater was so dusty we did not turn it on!! The furniture looked like it fell off a truck. Literally! Carpet was gross with paint at threshold between rooms. Bathroom window is unsightly and even the doorknobs on bathroom door were so awful we did not want to touch them. One lone picture on the wall in entire suite. For a place which advertises unique decor we were beyond disappointed. We indicated our unhappiness with the room when we checked out. Your front desk staff was very courteous and apologized for there being no “wow” factor for the suite. She did reduce our balance by 50$ which was nice of her but we are still so disappointed by our experience there. I have many photos to corroborate our complaints. I always read reviews and if I had known in advance how shabby the room would be we would not have booked. Perhaps the most unpleasant thing of all was the GROSS fabric headboard. Hard to get comfortable with that awful fabric which countless other heads have touched right next to your head. Awful!!! I sent this email to the hotel manager and never received the courtesy of a reply.

This hotel held $620.00 for a single room that for a wedding guest was to be $205. While customary to hold funds - after the charge was applied to my account - the continued (and still are) holding funds of $310 FIVE days after the stay and bill was paid. This is inefficient, causing issues and quite frankly the stay was not worth this! Never will stay at this place again and I would encourage those of you who do - check your account and check your bill!! (they also charged us for parking when we had no car)

Laura, I want to start off by apologizing for the incorrect parking charge. As you mentioned, there was a group of you here for a wedding and our valet tickets are referenced by last name. As a result, one of your family member's parking was incorrectly posted to your bill and I apologize for that mix-up. We have spoken to you directly regarding the authorization taking several days to revert back to your card. I apologize for the inconvenience of the bank taking longer than usual but unfortunately their processing times are out of our hands.

The hotel staff is one of the nicest I have encountered in Seattle. I would especially like to single our Edona who went about and beyond to make our special occasion memorable. Everyone had a great attitude and the hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms do smell like a hospital/nursing home to be honest. Also, rooms facing Madison are extremely loud. The fire alarm went off twice in the middle of the night, ruining our sleep. I still gave the hotel 5 stars due to the wonderful staff members.

Riya, I am so glad that you had wonderful experiences with our staff - namely, Edona. We strive to always provide personable and accommodating service. I do apologize about the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night, it was an unfortunate error with the system. We hope that you will join us again soon. Next time, feel free to give us a call, as we have a variety of rooms away from the Madison street noise. Thank you for staying with us!
