Hotel's Favourite
We did splurge a bit on this hotel since it is the only overwater hotel in Seattle with a rich history. The rooms were great but what really made this memorable was when we got done at the Space Needle after sunset and came down to the restaurant. They sat us in a cozy leather couch with coffee table in front of the fireplace. We could see through the beautiful glass doors to the water and right in our view was the sliver of the moon! Between the fire, the moon and the sky colors and our yummy food, we could not ask for a better way to end the day!

I have stayed at the Edgewater many times and love it. The location is excellent and the bar and restaurant are great place to meet up with friends and family. The housekeeping staff is wonderful and super helpful. I also love the turntables and records you can barrow at the front desk.

Based on a stay from years ago, we booked a couple of nights on either side of our cruise. We found the facilities to be dated and average - certainly not what I would expect for the rates of the rooms. We had one issue that was never resolved. We'lll go to the Marriott next time.

First stayed here 10 years ago.. Made a huge mistake going back. Hotel is vastly over-priced and is living off its reputation., room was cramped, poorly designed, dated, dusty and noisy. We will not be returning.

I’m writing this review while staying at the Edgewater tonite after, having been here in the past ……I’m very sadly disappointed. While the view on the patio is amazing, the overall condition, cleanliness and attention to detail is sorely lacking throughout. My room smells of smoke and has stains on the ceiling, the glass desk top must have been where someone had breakfast earlier today and no one wiped it off afterwards. The public spaces are in desperate need of maintenance. The wall trim is beat up and peeling, floors are visibly dirty, upholstery is stained and worn in the bar, the ladies room is close to filthy with water all over the floor, visibly dirty toilets (use your imagination), trash overflowing etc. The patio area is worn, again with peeling trim, dirty floors, broken tile on the tabletops, and more. I could go on but I think I’ve made my point. The coffee shop had good fresh coffee and the Small Bites (shisitos, asparagus & truffle fries) were wonderful. The salmon on my Caesar was not fresh (of all things to not be fresh!) and the waitress was pleasant but lackluster and slow. The runners who brought us our food were great and the young man who checked me in was charming. I’m a seasoned business traveler of 20+ years and this is by no means a 4 star experience.

The hospitality of the staff at The Edgewater Hotel was amazing. They were knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, and more than willing to help with any concerns we had. The in-house restaurant was gorgeous, with even more amazing views of the water. I highly recommend this as a place to stay when in Seattle.

What I loved about the hotel was that it was NOT a highrise, the staff was very pleasant, the hotel was on the water and the most enjoyable place to watch the sunset. I would definitely return. By the way, did I mention the pillows were just fantastic lol ?

Super bummed! I have loved this hotel for 15 years, always stay here when we are in Seattle. The location is bomb, walking distance to a ton of places and the views are amazing. Unfortunately the price has gone significantly up over the years, but the service and cleanliness have gone down! There were flies everywhere during my stay and even though there were four red coated valet's I never saw any of them open a door for any guest, super weird! I was really disappointed with my last stay and will have to find a new place.

Before I get nitpicky I tellyou this is a special place. We will stay again. We will not stay under the outdoor event space. If we were here for leisure and wanted to spend an afternoon by the fire reading a book we would have checked out. The clogging around on our ceiling was limited to 9am to sunset but it was surprisingly loud. I now know why earplugs were near our bed. The room temperature control wasn't as responsive as we might have liked. We had it on 65c and it was not near that. We were told by staff we could open the window. The window opening was large enough to pitch a mattress out of ( a refreshingly great thing) but there were no screens. It is a rock and roll hotel but we did not want to wake to a flock of seagulls in our room. Simple things to make a great stay better: Empty space in a room is a wonderful luxury. The bathroom has a roughly 16 square feet of empty space but lacks surface to put out all of one's meds, bath products, etc. A piece of furniture in this area would help. A fluffy mat in the bathroom would help. The tub/ shower combo has the slipperiest surface in the world. A+++ on the grab bars. Even a young person should use them in any hotel. The room attendant did 95% of the job. It is nitpicking but the bed was never fully finished. We would HIGHLY recommend staying here but do ask to avoid being under the event space. A true treasure in Seattle.
