The Edgewater Hotel boasts picturesque waterfront views and a prime location that guests appreciate, though a few feel it's somewhat isolated. While the rooms are often commended for their cozy fireplaces and water vistas, there are mixed feelings about their size, state, and cleanliness. The hotel's amenities, including live music and fireplaces, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, but some visitors suggest improvements in Wi-Fi and general upkeep.
Service is generally seen as friendly and professional, but not without occasional lapses. Despite the charm, many guests question the value, pointing to high prices and extra charges. Additionally, noise from nearby trains and wildlife has been a concern for some travelers.

Hotel's Favourite
We did splurge a bit on this hotel since it is the only overwater hotel in Seattle with a rich history. The rooms were great but what really made this memorable was when we got done at the Space Needle after sunset and came down to the restaurant. They sat us in a cozy leather couch with coffee table in front of the fireplace. We could see through the beautiful glass doors to the water and right in our view was the sliver of the moon! Between the fire, the moon and the sky colors and our yummy food, we could not ask for a better way to end the day!

My stay at the Edgewater was one of the best in the Seattle area. The greeting provided by every employee at this hotel begins and ends with hospitality. I visited every corner of this beautiful hotel, made famous when the Beatles visited in the 1960's. The staff is friendly and courteous and the view from the room, bar and restaurant are amazing. I had a seaside room and heard the seagulls the first night of my stay, but after getting used to their call, which sounds like a baby crying, I had a great nights sleep. The room had a large, claw-foot soaking tub; the staff will provide bath salts upon request. Overall, this is a wonderful place for most any type of travel. I especially enjoyed this location, a hotel with many amenities, where hospitality is key, and plenty of nearby sightseeing, literally steps away; or, via a bicycle ride (provided at the hotel) along the newly renovated Alaskan Way.

My mom and I were in town to see Paul McCartney so we thought we’d get the full Beatles experience as well as avoid the late night rush to get to the ferry and drive home! We live in Bremerton, which is an hour ferry ride away, and we would normally drive onto the ferry but the parking at the Edgewater was an additional charge of $52 per night! Because of that, we decided to walk on the ferry and just Uber or taxi around town. The hotel had a great atmosphere, with friendly and excellent service. We loved the rock and roll/music theme and the natural stone and wood accents throughout the hotel were BEAUTIFUL, as was the view! The gift shop was a fun surprise and, of course we had to get a souvenir. Our room had a view of the Space Needle, and had the same beautiful wood and stone accents as the rest of the hotel. Our bathroom was beautiful as well but the room was not as clean as we would’ve liked. The decorative bed pillows looked like they don’t get cleaned as we noticed vague yellowish stains on them and there was an empty water bottle underneath the bed. The pillows weren’t a huge deal because we weren’t going to use them, but it made us wonder about the things we didn’t/couldn’t see, especially with COVID. I wouldn’t recommend food or coffee from the cafe in the gift shop. Although it was a far less expensive option compared to the hotel restaurant, my iced “mocha” tasted more like milk than coffee or chocolate. The breakfast sandwich was not great either. The egg, sausage and cheese were fine but the English muffin was chewy and difficult to tear/bite through. There was lots of seating with tables in the lobby where we could eat our food and enjoy the water view but there were NO garbage cans anywhere nearby. The closest one was back in the gift shop. Not a huge deal as it was just outside the lobby but it’s a cramped space to maneuver if there are just a few people in there. Overall, it was a very good experience and the good outweighed the bad. We would stay there again and would recommend to friends and family.

Overpriced for the quality/quantity of amenities being provided at a poor value for the dollar .. we have stayed at several other seaside hotels that for the cost provide a much more upscale/Sanitary experience. I would compare my experience at the Edgewater to be similar to staying at a beat up motel six, as a room smelled of mildew and the furnishings or very worn and tired scratches on cabinets surfaces , multiple stains that had aged.
We’re not well off by any means and this trip was an expense , your hotel was meant to be a relaxing and crowning stay on our visit to the PNW.
Though the trains running by outside are out of your control, providing windows that actually eliminate/reduce the sound significantly would have been appreciated . The entrance and lobby are gorgeous but as soon as I entered the room. It was a cabin theme but one that had been well well worn.

+1
We stayed in an Over Water King for 7 nights and were so disappointed. Our flight arrived in the morning and the hotel said they could accommodate an early check-in so we agreed to have lunch in the restaurant while they got the room ready. We sat in the freezing cold lobby for 4 hours before our room was ready. They kept telling us that they put a rush on it and it wouldn't be much longer. When we finally got to our room it was dirty. Huge red stains on the sheets, dust on the counters and something spilled inside the refrigerator. They promptly switched us to another room which was frustrating since they acted like they didn't have any clean rooms and made us wait for 4 hours. They should not have told us they could have accommodated us for an early check-in if they really couldn't. Then we were stuck listening to loud music until midnight every night. They host weddings and parties in the rooms down the hall and the walls just shake from the noise. When I called the front desk I was simply told there was nothing they can do and there was no noise restrictions for the parties. Seems absolutely crazy you would spend over $300 a night and have to listen to that. The room itself was freezing the whole time. The fireplace did not put out any heat and only had a tiny flicker of light. The thermostat was only adjustable between 67 and 71° and was locked to go any higher or lower. They had some type of air circulation system which felt like AC which would pop on all the time. The hotel does not have any complimentary coffee, tea or water in the lobby. They have a small gift shop that serves coffee and a bottle of water was $4. The only good thing about our room was the bathtub. I also appreciated that the fitness room was open 24/7 because I was awake at 3:00 a.m. everyday. The hotel is also within walking distance of all the major attractions and right next door to the Pier 66 and we could watch the cruise ship leave on Sunday morning.

When we booked our “water view” at a premium of 2x the typical rate I never would have imagined the views (see attached photos). Misleading doesn’t quite cover staring at a cruise ship parked right in front of your window.
The hotel is located next to the Norwegian cruise line port. The whole thing is so outrageous it is comical.
The hotel has a very bare bones feel. No gym, pool or spa. In the bathroom there was only ONE shower towel (what kind of hotel doesn’t give you a full towel set?). The toiletries are skimpy - no milled hand soap, no toiletry set.
The staff is friendly but the service can be hit or miss. We ordered chamomile tea delivered to our room, and the front desk promised two pots. 15 min later a distraught lady who looked like she was just plucked out of the kitchen arrived at our door with two English Breakfast Keurig cups.
The breakfast is, for all intents and purposes, unavailable, because you have to make a reservation several days in advance. While I understand dinner being open to non-hotel guests, not making breakfast available to your hotel guests means they have to find coffee and food elsewhere first thing in the morning.
The location is good, not great. It’s a 15-25 walk to most attractions, but what you have to realize is that the hotel is built on top of a pier in the middle of a working port. It’s surrounded by other piers. The overall gestalt is industrial warehouse space. When we walked around we saw other other hotels in the downtown area that had better immediate surroundings.
On the positive side, the lobby is nice and has nice views. The bike rental program works very well for getting around the city.
Overall we wouldn’t stay there again when we visit Seattle, and we feel ripped off by the deceptive marketing.

I am a local Seattle-ite, so I am familiar with the neighborhood. I chose edgewater to have my wedding here because of the history, view and quirkiness of the hotel.
I had my out of town family stay here for the wedding. They all loved the hotel, the service and became friends with the amazing cleaning staff. In particular, Jeremy from the front desk was a life saver for us. He was so patient, helpful with such a positive attitude when we had to change rooms because I have an elderly mom and an aunt that cannot walk far. He helped us move to rooms that were much more accessible for both of them. We became fast friends, and he helped me as the bride be stress free. It was also nice to see him always greeting us when we were in the lobby and such a breath of fresh air!
The food at the restaurant is great - with local PNW flavors.
The hotel is also in a great location - with easy access to the sculpture park, pike place market, local restaurants and bars. It's also in a location that is slightly removed from the hustle and bustle from downtown, which also makes it a great location!

View was great but I would expect that for $600/night. Our 2 bed room was adequate in size with a wonderful fireplace. HOWEVER, the mattress was way too soft (we rolled to the middle), booked 3 guests and there were only 2 coffee pods and mugs, limited toiletry amenities, bar closed at 10pm (Saturday night), no room service, no microwave and no informative magazines or books on the local area. The property was well maintained, people very friendly, but when I tipped $5 to a valet for helping us with Uber, he suggested I could give him more. Not cool.

I was disappointed with the stay. A cleaning person came into my room while I was in the bathroom. The shower was clogged. The person in the room next to me had their alarm go off at 4am. And there were no to-go cups for coffee. For that much money, I was hoping for more.

There is indeed a tram from the airport that goes into downtown Seattle...easy to see the signs at the airport to it...that said, it stops in downtown and it's a walk down a hill to the waterfront...you may not want to do that but you certainly can...
There are coffee machines in every room!
We only offer rooms and suites with one bedroom. We do have multiple room suites, such as a separate living room and bedroom.
They don’t have a hotel shuttle anymore. We used Lyft.
