Great hotel! Pretty lobby. Rooms were nice, roomy. If you're wondering, a child or small adult can comfortably sleep on the love seat, just order extra blankets and pillows. Beds were super comfortable, bathroom was large enough, but desperately needs hooks to hang towels, there's none. Plenty of counter and shelf space to spread out. Staff was very friendly and helpful every time we interacted with them. When we got there a guest was being less desirable, so they upgraded us to a room with a view. There was bird poop on the window so it wasn't the greatest view...but that's not the staff's fault. Starbucks in the lobby is very convenient, but there's usually quite the line. It moves fast, the staff are efficient. Not the greatest room service options, so you need to plan to eat out. The gym was well appointed with a great view. A weight pin was missing from one of the main pieces of equipment, rendering it useless, which was unfortunate, hopefully they'll replace that. Walking distance (1 mi) to Space Needle, Chihuly, 4 blocks to Pikes Fish Market. A little more than a mile and you can get to most neighboring areas. Convenient stores nearby like Target, Walgreens, etc. It's not the greatest location - lots of homeless, the streets smell like urine, lots of stores closed, most everything closes around 6pm, including most restaurants, and many were so busy they wouldn't do take-out. There's a Cheesecake Factory on the alternate corner which worked well for my family - kids will eat there, it's open late, and does take-out. Plus you can eat at the fish market which is close - tons of various options, including those other than fish, like Greek food, sandwiches, smoothies, etc and lots of dessert options. Great shopping all around. No complaints, would stay there again.…
Room is spacious, but walls are very thin. I can hear the conversations going on in the adjacent rooms. There are 2 buildings - pike and union. I stayed at the pike street tower which have higher floors compared to union. Some rooms have bathtub, some doesn’t. TV has good amount of channels. There are also plugs convenient on each side of the bed. Location is good, between pike and capitol hill. However there are plenty of surrounding streets with homeless congregation. I felt that only walking along Pine Street, and Pike Street (cheesecake factory side) made me feel safe. F&B at capitol hill is very convenient, although it will be quite a hike up. A big supermarket can also be found there. Cleanliness wise - fair, since I found strands of hair in my bedsheet when I checked in. There is very limited foam pillows so do not be too disappointed if they take long to find 1 for you. Staff are generally friendly. One thing they could provide are pens and papers in the room. The hotel lobby has shortage of staff, waited very long for concierge to appear for luggage collection, but if you are a Marriott member, then check-in is smooth and quick. They also uses Marriott keycard and you can unlock doors using your phone. The lobby restaurant “Fountain” serves nice hot breakfast, and from evening onwards it will be transformed into a lively bar.…
Our family stayed here for six nights in June 2022. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions of the best restaurants and sites to see before we left Seattle. A couple of other reviews complained about having to call down for housekeeping services due to no automatic daily service because of covid. The front desk scheduled those for us when we checked in (we requested every other day) and we had no problems. One other complaint on other reviews was about no blackout curtains. This is easily remedied as well…just look at the top of the window and you will see a metal strip attached to a black out shade that you can pull down. I think most people don’t notice it, but it is definitely needed during the months where it gets light early and stays light late. Rooms were very clean and we rarely heard other people on our floor. The Starbucks downstairs was perfect for a snack in the mornings before we left on our adventures. The location of this hotel is perfect. It is near Westlake station and easy walking distance to Pike’s Place Market. There was a significant amount of homeless population on the streets of Seattle along with drug activity that we witnessed on the streets nearby, but we never felt unsafe in the hotel itself. I would just suggest traveling in groups while out walking or taking an Uber around town. Overall this was a fantastic hotel with amazing staff that were friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable trip. I would definitely stay here again next time we are in the Seattle area.…
Great location - stayed pre-cruise to be close to downtown area. We were able to walk to Pike Place Market and around the downtown area a bit. Nice size room, clean, great view other than the dirty window.
With a wide variety of Marriott brand properties in the city, this seemed to be the best choice for downtown for a number of reasons. It was two blocks from the airport LRT line, and close to every walkable attraction downtown. Being in the centre of the city, you had endless choices of food and beverage surrounding you as well. Check-in was swift and friendly, with a room provided on one of the higher floors. I found the room spacious and comfortable, with no obvious issues to point out. It came with lounge access, which is still undergoing a reduction in services. There were all day snacks but no evening specials. Breakfast on the other hand was above average, as the lounge is also used as the hotels general breakfast 'restaurant'. I appreciated the enhanced offerings, although it did feel a little bit crowded open to regular guests. I did not check out the pool or fitness centre. Overall a very comfortable stay, and would likely choose to stay here the next time I was in town.…
Visiting Seattle for 6 days. My stay here has been great! Room and hotel in general is clean. Beds are very comfortable! Location is great! Walking distance to the shopping district and Pikes Place. The hotel is very busy. There is a restaurant/bar downstairs and there is always a crowd that’s having fun. The Starbucks in the lobby is convenient for grabbing some coffee on the way out to start the day. The hotel only offers valet parking for $60 a day. I opted to self park in the garage and walk across the street. It is hourly parking, but max is $35 per day. Since it is the business district, things seem to close early around the hotel. I’m not sure why people keep saying downtown is so dangerous. It really isn’t bad, at least not in the area where the hotel is located. Yes there are some homeless people that wander, but they keep to themselves. I walked around at night on my own and never felt uncomfortable. My only complaint is that the rooms are not soundproofed very well. I was on the 18th floor and whenever a firetruck or ambulance would go by with their sirens on, it was loud. Otherwise, everything else was great and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.…
We stayed here for a wedding event, and it was extremely busy. The room was nice enough, with a comfortable king bed. The hotel offered no maid service, but would give us fresh towels and soap, etc if we went to the front desk. The staffing seems a bit stretched, but everyone we spoke to was extremely nice. Beware the valet rates are $60 per night, so I'd say to try and get a reduced parking rate, if possible. The gym was nicely equipped but was ignored by servicing staff while we were there; piles of towels at the bin, but no fresh towels. Service in the restaurant was stretched thin, and it was extremely crowded, but again, the staff were extremely nice and engaging. I'd say the food was standard Sheraton fare.
We took a family trip to Seattle. It had been years since our last visit and didn’t know where to stay. The Grand Sheraton was a perfect location. The area around the hotel was safe and we were able to walk to Pike Place Market just a few blocks down the street. The monorail was close by to get to the City Center and Space Needle, and the light rail station was 2 short blocks to get us to the Mariners game. It was a good price and great location.
The only good thing about this hotel is location, everything else is average. Expensive parking, awful breakfast for the $$$, and I think it’s ridiculous charging for WiFi in a 4star hotel. Very simple room, nothing extra in the bathroom, like shower cap or makeup remover wipes, no cups either. No water bottles in the room. Starbucks in the lobby closed at 4pm, and we didn’t have little stirring sticks in the room for coffee, so I had to get creative and used my toothbrush;). Basically you pay a lot of money just for the bed, which was comfy and pillows were good.
Stayed at the Sheridan Grand Seattle prior to taking a cruise out of Seattle. A very nice hotel, but bring money for the extra amenities . First hotel we have stayed in since COVID that actually had housekeeping without asking. Disappointed with consiere. He seemed clueless. Was not able to answer questions, which we're finally answered by desk clerk. However would stay again.
