Our room was pleasant, the service was quite responsive and we enjoyed being able to eat at good restaurants nearby. Alison at the front desk was helpful. It was quiet. We used the valet parking for overnight parking which was cheaper than nearby parking garages.

Location: I have no complaints about the proximity to public transit. Seattle is very hilly, so keep in mind if you're walking you will encounter steep sidewalks in the vicinity of this hotel. Immediate neighborhood seemed kind of dead on weekends (very limited coffee shop options open on weekends including the Starbucks?!) but it wasn't hard to take a bus / train to find something delicious.
Room: We booked a comfortable king bed room. Bed was comfy. The A/C worked fine (it was early Sept) but there was a sign indicating that around late May the hotel goes from heat to A/C, and around Oct 1 goes from A/C to heat. I can see this being an issue if there are warm days in May or October. There is street noise! I was aware of this but there was road work early on a Sat morning with jackhammering sounds that I doubt ear plugs would have blocked out. Wifi was spotty at times but I could get basic work done. Bathroom had a few issues. The tub drain was extremely slow so I had to almost trickle the shower head in order for water to drain properly. The toilet was wedged between the tub and a wall, so I can't imagine how some bigger folks can be comfortable.
Service: This was hit or miss. One time I placed a do not disturb sign at my door and they didn't disturb me the next morning, but when I removed the sign, housekeeping didn't come back to clean my room. Another day, I didn't place the do not disturb sign, and my door was knocked on 2-3 times before I even left my room in the morning. At one point housekeeping even unlocked my door and opened without knocking!!! The front desk was aware about housekeeping service being inconsistent. More needs to be done to smoothen this process.
Overall I didn't hate this hotel but it's sad how Seattle hotel prices are insane during peak season and this was one of the few acceptably priced places I could find. The hotel is beautiful, historic yet generally well maintained, and has potential if they fix a few customer service and structural issues.

This hotel is close to a lot of sightseeing while be reasonably priced. It's about a 5 min walk to University Station and a 10-15 min walk to the Pike Market. It's an older building so the layout of our room was unusual, but kind of epic: it was two rooms each with it's own TV, fridge, and bathroom, one room had a king while the other had a pull out couch. The room(s) were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the linens were fresh and soft. Some of the downsides we encountered were the noise from the back alley way - trucks backing in will honk even in the the night, the rainfall showerhead was installed incorrectly (angled) so the water fell too close to a glass shelf on the wall underneath, the wifi was pretty lousy and only worked in certain areas of the room.
The staff were very friendly and offered suggestions on places to check out. I think the hotel is really trying to revive some of the elegance it must have had in it's heyday. There is a nice lounge on the mezzanine where they serve coffee in the morning, however coffee is pretty much all that they have, luckily there are many coffees shops in the area. There was also a wine tasting offered on the mezzanine, but it didn't seem to garner much attention.
Overall, it was a good stay for the price. I think the hotel could do well if it advertised itself as a boutique hotel, take out some of the unnessary items, keep the moring coffee, and add in some vending machines.
Would stay here again.

This hotel was very charming. Really good. Customer Service in the bed was very comfortable. I really like the Morning staff. They were very friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed the wine down between five and six. It was a very nice way to meet other travelers in the hotel.

The website makes this hotel look elegant and sophisticated. It highlights valet parking, a gym, and a wine tasting. The pictures of the rooms look really inviting.

The hotel looks like it was once very nice, yet has gone shabby. We arrived at 7pm and were informed the “valet parking” was them arming us with a garage door opener and pointing us toward a secure parking garage blocks away. Okay, fine, whatever, at least the car is secure. The wine tasting in the lobby we were invited to? I’m not sure who would want to hang out in that lobby, I certainly would not.

Chipped paint in dingy and weird smelling hallways led to our very disappointing room. The bathroom was TINY, one of the windows in the room was stuck OPEN, and our sheets had yellow stains on them. I (politely, I am not an a**hole) asked for a new room. The second room was the same, at least the bathroom was bigger and the window was closed and locked. The toilet handle was a button that was positioned in such a way that when the toilet lid was opened or closed - the toilet would flush. What in the literal f*ck??

The only reason I gave 2 start is because it was near everything. If you don’t plan on spending much time in the hotel, this should suit you fine. If you are looking for a place to spend time relaxing in comfortable elegance - AVOID. Spend your money on something more worthwhile.

So the manager, Sandra, was amazing! We will be back just because of her.

I thought the 3 stars were wrong, and they ARE!

Outside you can miss the hotel entrance completely if you're not careful. It's centered right near all the major hotels. The lobby is welcoming, and the staff are nice and accommodating.

Traveling from out of state for our anniversary trip, they made sure our stay was as carefree as possible.

They checked our luggage in since we arrived a few hours early before the check-in time. Once we came back, we walked into our room. The 8th floor, corner room, great view, and all the rose petals and champagne and chocolates. The romance package was amazing, and i would pay for that upgrade every time! The room itself was tiny, but the bed was so comfortable, there's a nice sized tv, and the bathroom you could tell was really deep cleaned.

They also had robes for use in the room, iron, hair dryer, a mini fridge, and access to level 2, which had a gym and a lounge. The lounge had 2 tvs, sodas, chips, a keurig, and fresh fruit. This was definitely a good stop right before we went out to grab a soda to go.

The bathroom is small, but the tub is surprisingly spacious. The amount of hot baths I took in two days probably shouldn't have been so many lol but that water got hotter than hot, and after all the walking in Seattle you're going to want to dip in hot water.

So it seems that half the complaints are from the non-existent continental breakfast, but they agreeably do wine night, 5 nights a week for an hour!

The general manager was very accommodating too, we attended wine night. Had some great local wine. Well after she heard about our hotels(dot)com experience with booking then the website canceling my reservation she hard is her card and said she would match the online rate and even offered us a late checkout complimentary since our flight wasn't until late at night.

All in all, I would absolutely stay here again. The level of kindness and service was unmatched, and we felt safe and welcomed here. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone!

Rooms were clean and perfectly stocked with linens. The 2 room suite with sleeper sofa and 2 bathrooms was a perfect size for our family of 4 (2 teenagers). There was even a small fridge which we took advantage of after our short walk back from Pike Place Market. Two restaurants : Coffee/beer/pizza shop and Grill/Pub are located in same building. made great fall backs for breakfast or dinner. Staff was awesome, providing free wine 5-6pm every day. Complimentary water and coffee in room made a nice touch as well. Yes, Everett and team really took care of us. Our only recommendation is they add small coffee table or fold up trays to make it easy to enjoy our Market "catch" while sitting on couch watching tv. Oh, though so much is within walking distance, Uber will be there within 2min to pick you up and take you to those more distance destinations like the Living Computer Museum, MOPOP Center, or Neko's Cat Cafe. $7-$10 each ride was definitely economical for the 4 of us. Much better than hassling with a rental car and parking. Would definitely come back to this same hotel and same room.

Thank you so much for the informative review. We are thrilled to hear that your family enjoyed our family suite- it is definitely ideal for families that need some extra space and 2 bathrooms. Thanks for the suggestion regarding the table, we will look at adding that. I will pass your comments on to the team, especially Everett. +: location, good access to train/bus. Cheaper than nearby hotels. Bed was comfy, for first 2 nights (see next chapter)

-:condition, cleanliness, service, nonexistent sound insulation from busy 4th Avenue noise (W Seattle next door didnt have this problem). They will NOT clean your room, change bed sheets or towels, empty trash cans, replenish tea bags or coffee pods during your stay, no matter are you here for 1 or 10 nights, even if asked.

Dont trust the advertisements. A 2/5 establishment, ok for a weekend trip if you plan to use your hotel room for sleeping and nothing more. Wouldnt bring family here.

Great location, price, and customer service. Alison at the front desk was friendly and very helpful. Its very close to Seattle tourist locations, most of them are in walking distance. Be sure to ask for discounted prices ,most hotels in winter are only at 25% occupancy in the Seattle area.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I will make sure Alison hears how much you enjoyed her. You are right about relatively low occupancy rates in the winter in Seattle (although we run closer to 55% and there are many high occupancy nights each month). We are always happy to find the best possible rate for our guests, so feel free to ask us! We hope you visit again next time you are in town.

I arrived at the hotel two hours early, Becky was working the front desk and allowed me to get into my room two hours early and was so gracious as to waive the early arrival fee of $20. That was much appreciated Becky. Although I do not drink wine, the complementary wine happy hour I’m sure would be appreciated by those that do.
