We stayed three nights in the Plumeria Room. No glass windows, just shuttered, screened windows, but the fan did its job. We never felt too hot. The room has a kitchen area which served us well. It is a walking distance from the center of Kona and a short ride to some grocery stores. We also used their BBQ ....

This was our second time to stay here. We enjoyed it so much two years ago, we didn't even consider staying anywhere else on our latest trip. Sherri and Dean are the most wonderful hosts. Besides giving you a clean comfortable place to stay, the have everything necessary for a great vacation. Laundry on site. Beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers,...

This is our fourth visit to the Kona Hula Girl, and it never disappoints. Immaculate, functional, comfortable rooms and well maintained, enjoyable outdoor spaces. And, importantly, friendly, helpful owners/hosts. This is our go-to place in Kona! This year we chose the air-conditioned Aloha Room. Took a few hours to cool down, but the temperature was fine after that. Thanks, Dean...

We have stayed at the Kona Hula Girl many times. We have lived on the Big Island, know the area and when we come back for a visit, we stay here. Dean and Sherri are very gracious hosts, take excellent care of the B&B (w/o the breakfast) style home that they have. The rooms are more spacious than a hotel...

Sherri & Dean are wonderful hosts to the Big Island and Kona Hula Girl provides all our necessary accommodations: great location, parking, and spectacular hospitality. We had a full nine days booked and Kona Hula Girl was the perfect launching point for us and all we had scheduled to do. Any questions or concerns were quickly resolved by Dean and...

We loved our stay at the Kona Hula Girl. The Garden Room & Patio was perfect. The house was within an easy walk to Ali'i Drive to the restaurants, shops and beach. Our room was beyond clean and well apportioned. The semi-outdoor shower was quirky and refreshing. Our hosts were the perfect hosts. My only (very small) issue was with...

We booked the Kona Hula Girl for the first part of our honeymoon - and after a long day of travelling (silly us went via LA from Australia to Kona - crazy!), it was fantastic to arrive and meet Dean and be shown to our nice spacious room, with a big comfy bed! The room was large enough for us...

We love it here. It's so clean and cute. Just the right size. Good kitchen with a fridge, toaster and microwave. The bathroom is nice sized with a shower that has good heat and pressure. At night, the road traffic wasn't all that noticeable.

My husband and I were extremely happy with Kona Hula Girl and the kind folks Dean and his wife (whose name I could mangle in spelling but I believe it is Sherry?) with their hospitality and knowledge. Starting with Dean helping us find the location without GPS or our map and in the dark via phone we knew we had...

We were very happy with our choice of accommodation. Dean the owner was very friendly, polite, relaxed, and ensured we had all our comforts and requirements available. We were in Kona when hurricane warnings were happening. He boarded up all the windows just in case, but ensured we were happy about this. The building is very new, very clean, a lovely...

In these Kona rentals, each room is decorated with Hawaiian plantation charm and includes a partial kitchen, eating area, cable television, queen bed and private bathroom. Enjoy the outdoor patio, and if you like, have a barbecue. If your eating out, down town Kona is only a 10 to 15 minute walk where you will find beaches, shopping and restaurants. The property is built an open air, island style design. This means most rooms have screens and shutters for windows. The ocean breeze brings in tropical smells from the coast right to the room. We even have a room with an outdoor shower. ... more   less
