While visiting the Big Island of Hawaii for the first time, we stayed for 4 nights at Bears' Place Guest House and could not have found a better place. We stayed in the Hibiscus Studio suite on the main floor of a 5 unit guest house in a residential neighbourhood. Our room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, and included... More

My partner and I stayed 3 nights at Bear's place last month during our visit to the Big Island. We had no problem finding it using our GPS. As our hosts told us by email, the key to our room was waiting for us with a little note on the door. Our room (the orchid's suite I believe) was very... More

Live like a local in a house in a quiet, lush neighbourhood, overlooking the ocean in the hills of Kailua Kona, private porch surrounded by garden with large banana trees, the room with kitchenette was clean and very pleasant. The owners live close by and are very professional, friendly and helpful. We had a relaxing stay during IronMan Week with... More

We arrived late to our studio, however as promised.... We didn't get lost in the dark nor had a hard time getting into the room. It had 2 beds , fridge , utinsels, plates, ziplock bags and even Tupperware! Very clean, and everything was just like home! There was also a welcome snack in the fridge to help us get... More

We booked two nights at bears place for all the reviews of the peace and quiet- which it totally delivered on. The location is away from town but totally surrounded by other houses. So it's not exactly away from people- just away from anything you want to do. We were expecting more seclusion. Also we misunderstood this is a bed... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in the Plumeria suite, and were very happy with our experience there. It is a large suite that is very well equipped (the only things that it does not have is an oven and a kitchen sink- this was not a problem though as a communal sink is available for dishwashing) and has... We stayed a week and loved our stay at Bear's Place. We especially loved the lanai surrounded by flowering bushes and tall, green vegetation. We enjoyed the sunsets from the lanai, and cooked and ate meals there too. Our room (the Hibiscus, I believe) was roomy and contained everything a traveler could possibly need, right down to plastic wrap and... More

We stayed for 2 weeks in the Hibiscus suite on the main floor and we loved it! Very spacious, comfortable bed (and this was the smallest of the 4 rooms!), well-equipped kitchenette, large lanai, peaceful location. It’s in a residential neighborhood, with zero traffic noise (it’s a bit off the highway) with space between homes, but the roosters will start... More

We stayed for 6 nights in the Hibiscus studio. It was very roomy, and immaculate, with an extremely well supplied kitchenette. It took no time at all to feel comfortable in. In the fridge upon arrival were fresh cut papayas, cookies, jam, and juice. The neighbourhood is quiet, except for the occasional barking dog, and has a brand new road. Lush... More
