The room had cockroaches and it smelled very bad! The bathroom was dirty, the area around the pool also. Internet very slow. It is not at all the Hawaiian Island spirit. We were lucky enough to have to spend there only one night.

Our first trip to Kona and we chose Uncle Billy's because of its location, which is central to downtown Kona. The hotel is a budget offering so don't expect 5 star but if you want a great location, a comfy bed, clean sheets and towels serviced daily then it's for you. Breakfast is a little light on but there are...

We knew booking that this was older hotel but when we vacation as long as room is secure and clean with decent bed and bath, it suits our purposes as all we use hotel for is to sleep a few hours and take bath. Upon late arrival, checkin was quick/efficient. Room needed clock power cord and curtains wouldn't close completely....

Quick check-in Very friendly staff - nice clean room - a fantastic continental breakfast - plenty of coffee - juice and my fav English Muffins ( but no Peanut Butter LOL ) A great location in the heart of Kona within walking distance of all the restaurants and shops. Will I go back there - I'm booking a room for...

It has a very strong and uncomfortable smell of mold.It is totally unbearable. Had to open the window to breathe. Not sure if it is unhealthy or not. Its condition is very old, the furniture and bathroom are not clean. Kinda gross. Bath tub is chipped. I stayed for just one night. Worst experience ever. Will never stay there again...

Like some of the other reviews, I booked this place knowing it was an older hotel and in need of some updating. Indeed that held true. They could use some deep cleaning and updating. But, it was very affordable. We only stayed here one night as our plane came in very late and it was too late to drive to...

Stayed one night at Uncle Billy's. Good location. This place is definitely a budget hotel which is what we expected. Nothing fancy. Beds and pillows hard as rocks but again we didn't really expect super high quality based on the price. My big problem however was the staff. Went to fill up my water bottle and encountered a very rude...

Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Hotel is in the middle of the Kona "Strip" of shops, shops, shops and close to the beach for a morning stroll. Next to Uncle Billy's Kona Bay Hotel is a local outdoor market which is open daily with fruits, vegetables and a plethora of craft booths. The room was basic, an OK bed, OK pillows,...

My shuttle driver (from the airport to the rental car agency) asked where we were staying and when I told hime Uncle Billy's, he advised me to get a can of Raid before I got there as all the druggies and low life's stayed there. We were glad to find him badly misinformed! The place is no Ritz, the carpets...

This place was so bizzare. The lights only worked sometimes, the toilet looked and sounded like it was made for a construction worker, and the lights would turn on in the middle of the night. I dont know if its haunted or they have an electrical problem... It is in a convenient location. Thats it. Staff was not very pleasant.
