We booked the Chief Motel primarily on the previous good reviews on TripaAdvisor and we are so thankful! It really was an excellent place to stay for many reasons, a few are: - Location - excellent central location within the Black Hills. - Cleanliness - our room was very clean when we arrived and the staff did a great job...

modest clean and friendly, the pool and spa and suana make it a plus, there are some tiny tiny rooms and some spacious ones, make sure to ask for a spacious one. they provided a place for us to wash our motorcycles, and there was a clean soft cloth on every bike in the morning to use to wipe down...

The Chief Motel was a great mom & pop style motel. It was squeaky clean and had everything we needed. Our room was actually a 2 bedroom. There was a full size bed in one room with a closing pocket-style door and the other room had a queen sized bed, fridge, microwave, tv & desk. The beds were very comfortable....

After reading the reviews on the Chief I was very optimistic. We were disappointed with our stay. The location was great. One of the rooms we booked (king) was very small. It is my understanding that they have different size rooms even though the beds are the same. Meaning you can have a king room that is decent size or...

We stayed at the Chief Motel for 3 nights. I was traveling with my 16 year old nephew , so I reserved 2 queen rooms . I chose the Chief because of the TA reviews, but noticed before we departed that its rating had dropped. However, after our 3-night stay,I was totally satisfied. The rooms are small and I was...

I really wanted to like this place. I was trying to save money and the TA reviews gave me hope that it would be a clean, comfortable, although outdated establishment. I was willing to overlook the room that was so cramped we had trouble finding room for our luggage, or the fact that all 4 of us had to pile...

We stayed 4 nights. We liked the comfortable beds, 25 cent soda, 1.99 vouchers for breakfast at the Wrangler, 1.99 voucher for pie at Bobkats, and location for area. Yes, the hotel is antiquated, but this is not a place we're spending 8 hours a day in. It's a hub. The shower was okay and yes the wireless internet was...

My family stayed here for two nights while we were traveling in the area to see Mt. Rushmore. When I first seen the place I thought it would be a dump, but when I got into the room I was thoroughly surprised. Very very clean. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were nice & soft. Nice location, nice little...

Writing this review from the motel. Smaller property which translates into quieter property. Kids liked the .25 sodas. At times the wirelesss has been spotty. The decorative quilts add a nice touch. The microwave and fridge came in handy. The indoor pool was well liked by the family. We slept well and did not have any issues but the motel...

As time goes on, this place stayed behind. Stay here if you want to experience where your parents stayed while driving their new 1952 Chevy. First of all, the stinky dumpster was no more than 30 from our door. Had to close the sink drain to keep the sewer smell and sewer flies from coming in. I think it would...
