By chance we were recommended this place by a neighboring hostel and how lucky that was! The hostel itself is a lovely space; a large wooden building, with plenty of hammocks and a huge communal kitchen. The room with ensuite was big, comfy and cool enough with the fan. The host is an asset, with his helpfulness and huge smile....

I stayed here for one night, and it was a great experience. It was off season and most of the hostels were empty or nearly empty. This hostel was no different. I was the only guest, and had the whole place to myself! The staff member was wonderful. His name was Isaac, and we chatted about all manner of things...

This was just what we needed. A perfect place for a good price. It looks lovely because it's made of wood. The owner smiles all the time and does anything to help you. Nice shower, ventilation, good beds, comfort, quite, water, kitchen, hamaks and very cheap! Just do it :).

I took my wife and her brother's family on a road trip to Tikal. I found this property on Hostleworld.com. It looked like a decent property, at a seemingly reasonable price. Upon our arrival around 3 pm, there was nobody available to check us in. Apparently, the onsite manager was busy getting our rooms (3) ready. We booked a quad...

We were only here for one night, arriving late and leaving early but this hostel is very good value for money (100Qtz for a TWO bed room private en suite). Great terrace, plenty of hammocks, huge kitchen and handy location next to road for pick/up drop offs. Nice views of lake and short walk to water-side. Manager very sweet and...

We arrived in Flores wanting to connect to El Remate with no idea where to go or stay and this was recommended by one of the transport drivers so we thought we would check it out first, we did not even check any others out that night as it seemed great for the price. We paid 100Q for a double...

We stayed there as the weather was bad and didn't want to camp in Tikal. This proved to be a very good back up plan. We took all the rooms (about 8) enough for 20 people on the first floor. On the ground floor there is a big kitchen, and large tables next to it with hamacs. There is a...

I did not consider this place because Lonely Planet has it as much more expensive. The tuk-tuk driver took me there and at 50 quetzales (£5) a night it is a bargain. The rooms are large but very musty smelling but in all fairness it rained non-stop whilst I was there. there was an ensuite bathroom which was mega-luxury for...

We almost didn't go here after seeing the low tripadvisor rating but I'm glad we did. For just 100q a night we had a large private room with a double and single bed plus ensuite bathroom with warm shower. It was pretty clean, there was a kitchen and hammocks to relax in. The manager was very friendly. The only negative...

To start out do not book this hostel through any website, as you will learn quickly that you lost your down payment. The hostel does not have any wifi! The owner speaks only spanish so another reason not to book online. To start with the good things the rooms were large and had there own bathrooms, the main area on...

“this place can be very noisy until about 10.30pm due to a Cantina next door and a church down the road. This is mainly at weekends and finishes to just leave the usual sounds of dogs and cockerels. the walls are very thin so you can hear everytime your neighbours move but I think all rooms were similar. A great place to stay if you are on a budget”
