Just returned from an incredible visit to the lakeside resort of La Casa De Don David in the charming village of El Remate. If you are considering a visit to Tikal and are wondering where to stay you will be thrilled with this piece of paradise. The owners David, his lovely wife and their daughter have thought of every tiny...

La casa de don David was so peaceful. If you are wanting to visit Tikal or just experience all that the area has to offer you couldn't pick a better place to stay. La casa de don d David offers a friendly personable staff, great food, and it is extremely safe. David is such an interesting guy to talk to...

The staff at La Casa de Don David were very helpful and friendly. They arranged a tour to Tikal for me via email (it was great!) and took the time to tell me what to expect beforehand. The location is right on the lake, though it is walled off for security and privacy, with a great sitting area to watch...

If you are going to Tikal, Yaxha or any other of the main Peten attractions you HAVE to stay here. The rooms are simple but always very clean. Don't expect more than a 3 star hotel room but very clean. The hotel is surronded by nice gardens and a beautiful view of the lake. El Remate is a very peaceful...

I had planned to stay a couple of nights in Tikal but plans changed and I decided to stop off at Casa de Don David and I am so glad I did. It appears that I was the only guest that night and I had the opportunity for a long chat with David the owner as I enjoyed a drink...

I have stayed at Casa de Don David on 3 occasions, and would definitely stay there again. The atmosphere is homey, welcoming, relaxing, and beautiful, with the staff, gardens, delicious food, and family-owners making it the most pleasant place to stay near Tikal. The transportation costs are reasonable, to/from Flores airport, Tikal, or Belize. Great information is available, and the...

Excellent service. The hotel is lovely and they took care of everything, from booking our private guided tour to Tikal, to arranging transportation and tickets to Ixpanpajul nature preserve and our transportation to the Belize border. Rooms are spotless and quite nice. Great view, as the property is right on the lake, but sadly no pool or lake access directly...

I loved the location near the beautiful lake. We chose to stay here instead of the larger town of Flores when we wanted to visit Tikal national park, and we are so glad we did. It's a tiny town, so you get the feel of the local community, EVERYONE is so friendly and nice. It felt completely safe. The hotel...

Close to Tikal. Beautiful lake view. Lovely family-run business. Friendly dog named Lucas, will welcome you. Clean, simple rooms. Charming, large, well - maintained garden oasis, with a restorative Ceiba tree as its centerpiece. We arrived just 2 days after the creation of the Toucan Express - a cleverly-designed trolley that sends drinks from the kitchen (located at the front...

We were very impressed when we first got to Don David's. The location; the view; the grounds were beautiful. Unfortunately, we and our friends had ants in our rooms. We had a little hot water, our friends had almost none. The meals were cafeteria quality at best. The beds were so soft that we all awoke with back aches. The...

Dear Bill P, We regret to hear that your stay with us was not pleasant as you expected, but I was a bit confused upon reading this review. I remember asking you several times throughout your stay if everything was going well, as we make a genuine effort to keep our guests happy. You did not once mention any problems...
