We had a totally successful experience at La Casa de Don David, from quickly returned emails, to transportation arrangements, (pick up at the bus station, driver and guide to Tikal, delivery back to airport and bus station) to comfortable rooms, good food, and lovely garden. Our rooms were simple but attractive with lots of hot water, and one meal was...

We had a truly fantastic time on our vacation to Guatemala in the Peten area staying in El Remate at La Casa De Don David. everything was amazing, the wonderful family run buisness with a warm and gratious and helpful staff. our room was very nice and clean and the food was very good. the gardens filled with beautiful trees...

This is a brilliant b&b/hotel on the lake in El Remate. It has some amazing gardens which make for a great public space to walk and relax outside of your room. The rooms also have nice sized balconies which overlook the garden from either a rocking chair or hammock. Distance from Tikal is about 35kms so much closer than Flores....

We stayed here for only one night in November 2012 and wish we had stayed longer. The grounds and restaurant area are beautiful, the food is excellent and the staff can't do enough for you. The room had everything you needed and was quite spacious with a small verandah with chair and hammock - we stayed in no. 4. Free...

David and his family made this stay worthwhile. They were super helpful and always availaible for advice and just chatting. El Remate is a quiet little town on the lake and is MUCH more enjoyable then Flores. The food was good and one meal a day included in the p/person room rate was nice. Although charging p/person made it the...

We had a lovely ground floor room with a great hammock on the porch, very friendly staff and a great breakfast of Pancakes. The Resturant a short walk along the lake shore offers Superb meals and donations to the children's library they are setting up are welcome. The hotel offers a great place to relax for a few days.

The owners were gracious, the meals were delicious, the location was ideal, and the room was comfortable. The Ceiba tree with the Mayan cosmology is special. Even when we left early in the morning, they were kind enough to prepare us bag lunches for the trip. Highly recommend!

I'm traveling on a budget and decided to splurge for a couple of nights at the peaceful and beautiful Casa De Don David. For 30 bucks per night I got a clean, air conditioned room and dinner (or you can opt for breakfast); but most importantly outstanding service. David and his team are wonderful hosts. The property itself is beautiful...

I stayed at Don David's hotel for 3 days recently and highly recommend it to anyone traveling in the Tikal region. It is much more affordable than hotels in Tikal park and nicer too per my discussion with many others while visiting Tikal. It is run by David, Rosita and Kelsey and they provide basic, clean and affordable accomodations with...

Stayed here on September 11 and 12, 2012. Great place about half hour from Tikal. Shuttle to Tikal picked up us and dropped us off right at the hotel. Simple, comforable rooms with air conditioning - which in the heat of the El Peten rain forests is a very welcome blessing. Beds are comfortable, shower has hot water (although you...
