We can comment only restaurant because We didn t have a room there. For us there was slow and lazy staff. Food wasn t so much delicious. For Us it was overvalued restaurant(lot of people recommend it to Us but we didn t like it). Far from the "centrum" of the "village". In this village there are better choices where...

I'm disclosing my best secret by reviewing this piece of heaven on earth. Feels like family every time we come, congrats on the new dock, we enjoyed it a lot on our last visit. It's a wonderful experience, the best place to swim at the lake! Also delicious food and good coffee, home made bread as well. Gracias Santiago y...

Wow! This is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to. Nice rustic hotel, lake front, chill out music and environment, great weather. The property has its own deck which has a beautiful view of Lake Peten Itza. A collective bus will take you from Flores to El Remate and back for $10 or less.

Sleeping in the middle of the jungle with birds and howler monkey next to youn bungalow, it was just great! But what made it even better was the food. The fresh fish from the lake was super. The mountain goat stew (cold) was great. But oh my, the river lobster (crayfish, écrevisse) was easily the best thing I had in...

Very good hotel / hostel. Remate is on the other side of the lake from Flores and it's a little slice of paradise where you can swim in the lake off the dock and watch the lighting as an afternoon storm passes over. A really cool place to use as a stepping stone to Tikal.

This place is rustic and a great place for a real traveler, not a tourist vacationer. If you're looking for a place like Motel 6 or better and you want pristine and polish this is not for you. It's more for the spartan type who takes everything in stride. The service a little slow, as well as the WIFI. Yet...

The hotel is located 1 km from the main road. I arrived walking, but Santiago, the owner, had offered me to be picked up if calling him. El Remate is a wonderful place for relaxing and being close to nature. Arrivning at Mon Ami, I didn´t get the room I reserved but another one without bathroom. When I observed this...

The owner of the place, Santiago Billy, is a really friendly person, which is why Mon Ami has a very fitting name. The place offers either 200Q comfy cabanas or 50Q dorm beds. The cabanas are pretty, yet a little rustic (no A/C, but good fans). The best part about them is the ones that are further in the property....

French speaking resort. Super cozy little restaurant. The food is delicious. Our room was down a little pathway not too far from the main hut. My boys loved running out to the dock and swimming in the lake. There was laundry service at the resort which we took advantage of. Lovely to fill our backpacks with clean clothes again! El...

It is a nice surprise to find a good French restaurant in a remote Guatemalan village run by a French ex-patriate and it is certainly the best bet to eat in that area. Best to make reservations because it is popular and has few tables. It is also a B&B, but because they were full we had to stay in...
