I stayed here during the St. Patrick's weekend. The staff even were giving out free beads! The hotel is an old Warehouse that has been renovated. The structure takes up the whole block and there is an interior courtyard that has a swimming pool and combo tennis court/basketball court. It kind of has the feel of a resort, with seating...

We chose this location because of its closeness to the WWII museum. We were pleasantly surprised with the caring & friendly assistance of their staff, particularly Duane. Easy walking distance to the French Quarter.

Selected this hotel because I am typically a fan of Marriott hotels and because the website description for the 2 bedroom suite said it could accommodate 6 adults. I was able to request a rollaway on the web as well. When we checked in we were notified that our room could not have a rollaway due to its location in...

Great location in the Warehouse district near WWII museum. Recommended if you want to be within walking distance to the French quarter but not near the drunks of Bourbon street. Breakfast was included and not bad. Unfortunately, the room we were given first had a strong marijuana smell in the bathroom. We were given an upgrade and front desk was...

I don't normally give 5 stars. You need to really exceed my expectations in order to get that. Our 2 days stay at the residence inn in downtown definitely earned that rating! The hotel is in the warehouse district. It's a nice location just up from the aquarium and outlets. It is about a mile walk to the French Quarter....

For Mardi Gras the girls and I stayed at Residence Inn. The hotel is nice. The staff were very friendly. The store at the desk was overpriced. The breakfast was good. Duane the chef was very nice. Had both pork and turkey products. However the evening snacks were horrible. The taco meat had triple seasoning and the bratwurst was very...

We had booked three apartments but since we arrived late in the morning, none of them were available. But the nice front office manager decided to give us a complimentary upgrade to a suite so we could get some rest and store all our bags in one apartment. That was classy and great service! Otherwise, location is very good (with...

The hotel was nice. The room - a 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen and decent sized living space. Each bedroom and the living area all had flat panel TVs. There were 7 people in our group in town for Mardi Gras. The location of the hotel was on a direct route of one of the parades, which was perfect...

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
