I travel often and whether I come to Nola every 2 weeks or have not been in 8 months, John Marshall at Hotel St. Marie ALWAYS knows my name! The entire staff also strives to give the best room available and service when possible. Such a personable staff speaks volumes over the quality of a building. It is old and...

Stayed at Hotel St Marie for 5 nights. We had a mini suite which was on the first floor right off Toulouse. Noise wasn't too bad. Weekend nights got a little noisey but if you turned the TV up you didn't notice. They do need to replace the carpets in the halls and rooms. Our room had a musty smell...

It was our honeymoon, and we couldn't have picked a better place. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is gorgeous! Really clean, too. They were even able to upgrade our room for a couple of nights (no extra charge!) and we even got a complimentary bottle of champagne sent to our room. Our room had a...

We stayed ay the St. Marie for one night. The best thing about this hotel is LOCATION! located right near Burbon street smack down in the center of the French Quarter. We arrived really early and usually they let you park in the hotel from 13:00 (we arrived at 10:00 AM), there is NO place to park in the French...

Wife & I spent 3 nights here recently on what was our 4th trip to New Orleans. This was our first time staying at the Hotel St. Marie. Location is excellent, room was just OK. Carpeting in our room was really worn out and had a funky streaky stain about 5 feet long right in the passage way to bathroom...

I LOVE staying at the Hotel St. Marie just off Bourbon Street. For 3 years I have been to New Orleans, with friends, every year. The hotel is old and so very beautiful but well kept. The staff is exceptional and the location is perfect! We have another trip planned in December. Our 4th! Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

We have just left this hotel and I am sorry to say that we did not enjoy our stay. Although the location is brilliant, the hotel is tired and shabby. The hall carpet on the third floor was smelly and damp and the rooms were very dark. We booked a garden room with balcony that was very small and you...

Returned to NOLA and St Marie for 4 nights. Had a small inside room this time but it was fine. King bed, good linen etc. Our kids got the better room with a view of Toulouse St and then Bourbon. We did not pay for a balcony upgrade and since it rained 2 days glad. We really like the service...

I have stayed in many hotels in the French Quarter and always like trying somewhere new. The hotel St. Marie had an extremely friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were large but the balcony was so small, couldn't get chairs out. Would recommend facing the courtyard, quieter and seem a little larger. Do not get a room by the elevator,...

From the moment we valet parked the car to our check out three says later the staff at Hotel St. Marie were amazing. True southern hospitality. Jenn at the front desk and Karl deserve special kudos. They were fun to talk to, always smiling and from giving directions and suggestions to the little extras like giving us extra regular coffee...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
