It's unfortunate that I feel the need to write this review. In a recent trip to the French quarter, New Orleans we stayed at the lovely hotel St Marie. The close proximity to everything, yet the quiet of the street made this a wonderful hotel. Aaron was superb on the front desk, we were always greeted with a smile and...

Set in a quiet street just off Bourbon St, it is easy walking to so many of the towns attractions. The rooms were clean and quiet, however getting powerpoints to charge electrical items was tricky. Soft lamp lighting sets a beautiful mood in the room. Laundry service was extremely expensive.

We arrived to Hotel St Marie late on the 26th of January. Staying for 5 nights. First impressions were brilliant. Lobby is fab and check in was quick and easy and very friendly. Our room was adequate. We didn't book a balcony so this wasn't an issue but we couldn't even open the window. Sometimes fresh air is lovely but...

We recently spent two nights at this hotel since we were going on a cruise. Our room was nothing special and had a rooftop view. There was some mold on the windows and the front desk sent someone up right away to wipe the window with bleech towlets. Saw a roach in the bathtub when I turned on the light....

Room was very quaint-this is a boutique hotel. Cute little balcony overlooked courtyard. People at front desk were VERY NICE & Friendly. It was pricey but that was partially because there was an NFL game that weekend. Breakfast at hotel was delicious! Pricey but portions were HUGE! Bar was great - the bartender made a GREAT Bloody mary! they had...

Hotel is half a block from bourbon street. Excellent location. Double Street side balcony is a bit loud, both with music at night and garbage trucks in morning. Staff was fantastic, Lobby was beautiful but hallways needed a regular vacuum. Room was big and had room service , food was top notch. Parking was expensive but what are you going...

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The furniture was a bit worn, but for such a low price I was really impressed with the quality of the bed. There was also a new flatscreen tv in the room. I thought it might be noisy to stay in the French Quarter the week before Mardis Gras, but the old building...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
