Stayed in this hotel which has s right in the heart of Bourbon Street. the hotel is very stylish inside with comfortable rooms. You walk out the door right into the buzz of Bourbon Street. While we were there we saw a few parades go by fantastic spectacle. Some rooms have balconies over looking the street so you can join...

Stayed here for a one-night staycation (we are locals). Not sure what we expected of a hotel that fronts Bourbon Street but this a beautiful and well-cared-for property. We first tried a room with a Bourbon Street balcony but then asked to be switched to a quieter room. I think the Bourbon Street rooms are OK if you are in...

I got a very good rate which made the whole experience all the better. I think the hotel is very nice and the check in was just as nice. The front office agent suggested a balcony room because I was enjoying all the excitment on Bourbon Street. I can see why some might not like the activity that clearly reaches...

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and have always had a great experience. Unfortunately this year was much different. We booked our trip for our annual Christmas parties and we were not notified that Desire was under construction. The work started every morning at 8am and was SO loud it was impossible to sleep in. In most...

Laura, we are very sorry about the noise disturbance. The city was working on sidewalk improvements during your stay and unfortunately we were not given an exact time frame of which to notify our guests prior to arrival of potential disturbance. Please be assured that we are working very closely with our contractors on the renovation on Desire Bistro &...

We stayed three nights for the holidays at R.S. Room was clean and beds were fine. We stay in New Orleans a lot and here's my reasoning for not giving it higher marks. First the good. The bellmen and valet staff were wonderful. We were escorted to our room by Wilbert and we found out he had worked there for...

It has become a tradition for me to stay at the Royal Sonesta on Bourbon Street while enjoying Christmas New Orleans Style. To a certain degree I will tie the hotel stay with the event. The hotel is located on the 300 block of Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. As you enter the lobby in December you will note...

Absolutely beautiful hotel, well decorated for Christmas and in the heart of the French Quarter. Love all the brass and woods that appoint the Royal. Super restaurant, Revolution albeit quite pricey and the Curtis Mayfield jazz room brings a lot of authenticity to this hotel. However, I made the mistake of booking a standard room. Wow! It is small, especially...

Hotel was ok not great. Had a room on bourbon street which would have been great had they not had construction starting every morning and lasting all day with jack hammers and saws all. This hotel is beautiful inside and out. Located conveniently right on Bourbon St, you're never really far from "home". The rooms were clean which is always important to me. The staff are friendly. I can't think of anything bad to say about the hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
