We went to visit New Orleans and stayed at the Royal Sonesta. We had a great time. Perfect place to stay right on the strip of Bourbon Street. Very clean and great customer service. I would definitely stay again. Look forward to coming back again.

We came to check out the hotel during an earlier visit, very beautiful wanted to ask the front desk a few questions. That's when we met Alexandra, she was being verbally attacked by an absolute jerk who was calling her every name in the book. She was very professional, didn't let it faze her and was more worried about how...

This hotel has been kept up very nicely. The fixtures in the lobby are beautiful. The courtyard and pool area are a haven in the craziness of Bourbon Street. The biggest downside is the location because you can not avoid Bourbon Street and all of the activity. Make sure you ask for a room not facing the street. Otherwise, the...

We had a very good room on the top floor away from the noise of Bourbon Street (huge relief). It was well appointed, the glaring exception being no coffee making facilities, which holds for all rooms at the hotel. Our top floor staff were great. The two concierges, Darren and Kirsten in particular were a mine of useful information and...

Stayed 3 nights in April with my wife for the grand finale to our road trip from Nashville. The hotel is in a key location on Bourbon Street, wonderful for the 'night/early-hours-of-the-morning life' if you don't mind raucous revelling and loud music and all that goes with it. Tempted to compare Bourbon Street with Tennessee's Broadway and Beale Street, but...

I love this hotel very convenient to everything that you would want to do in New Orleans. A little pricey for 2 double beds. Stayed here a few times and will continue when going to Bourbon St.. Please be specific when making reservations since it goes to a central reservation number and specific types of rooms can be confusing.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
